Antifreeze inlet fill mistake

I meant to hook the hose up to the black water flush and mistakenly hooked it up to the Antifreeze inlet instead. I realized my mistake relatively quickly and disconnected it. I am Not sure where the water went, but I opened the fresh water drain and a fair amount of water drained out. Did I screw anything up?

You didn’t hook a water hose to an anti-freeze inlet. It doesn’t have that kind of connection. I assume you hooked it to the fresh water fill which would, indeed, put water in your fresh water tank. The only way I can see you might have messed up is if the black tank flush hose was contaminated.

My Mini Lite 2503S has 3 normal hose connections, one for city water, one for AF inlet and one for black tank flush. So he very well could have hooked up a hose to his AF inlet.

In the pic below, my city water is the top connection to the right of the fridge access door. My AF inlet is right below it, between the power cord and the access door. Black water flush is above the HWH access door.



If he didn't have his winterization valve open, I'm guessing he didn't really put any water anywhere. If the valve was open, I also don't think it went anywhere. I don't think you can push water through the pump, and it wouldn't be able to go backwards to the FW tank.

Edit: so you have to use a regular hose to suck AF into your unit?

Yeah. Cut 2-3 ft off a hose. Screw the fitting onto the connection and stick the end in the bottle of AF.

No it should not have done any damage, it just filled the fresh water tank backwards through the internal piping.

Thanks for the help and advice. I do in fact have a threaded input for winterization on my 2509s. Sounds like it ended up in the FW tank. Stupid mistake- I’ll be more careful next time!

Are you SURE you actually moved any water? Assuming your Mini Lite is like mine, your winterization valve is a 3-way valve that aligns your pumps suction to either the AF port or the FW tank. (A 3-way valve as opposed to 2 separate normal valves, as my Roo 19 had.)

IF the valve were positioned half way between the two, you MIGHT get flow from the AF port to the FW tank, but it would depend on the actual design of the valve (mine will).

Assuming you're not winterizing, i.e., the valve was positioned to the FW tank, no water can flow from the AF port to the FW tank.

I don't think you actually moved any water.

'Unless" the winterization valve is somehow still in the winterization position, (or halfway between) the water really wouldn't have went anywhere just as rockfordroo points out.

Should be no harm done.

BTW Dan, my Flagstaff (Rockwood sister) also has three outside hose ports... city, black flush and antifreeze.

If you don't have water leaking from anywhere inside the camper, I sure you're fine.
