The lock instructions are on a one page supplement tucked into the FR manual. The slide mechanism is made by company called M-Tech. I tried to find them on the net, but was unsuccessful. So no help there.
Seems there is a difference of opinion on usage? Hmmm

1st things 1st. I am sorry that i hijacked your thread. Thanks so much for your help.

I am in IN now & called Rockwood in Millersberg, IN to get the slide lock information directly from them. It is required for the 2109S & they are shipping one to me. They offered to drop it off for me in Cromwell tomorrow but I thought shipping it would be easier for all. What great customer service, you can't ask for more. The slide lock bar is not being included in several other models of their 2013 trailers. They are only getting damages due to over tighting of the slide lock bar. Several pushed it right through the wall.

The other news is that they are planning on switching to LED's & that they might have a package price in 3 months if I wanted the switch the lights to LED. No idea what it might cost at this time. They have tested leaving the current lights on & the standard battery lasts around 2 ½ days while LED's lasted the whole week. I will be using two 6 volt golf cart batteries so it doesn't matter much. My wife still wants them, maybe I can get bye with just changing 1 or 2 lights.

Glad to hear FR was on the ball!
Just got back from our maiden voyage Things started out on a sour note when the slide wouldn't go out. So I got a chance to try the manual crank, which is quick and easy. After a bit of cross examination of our 12 year old grand daughter, she admitted she "tried out" the buttons on the side of the sink cabinet. I figured a fuse had blown, but could not locate a blown fuse in the electrical panel. A more thorough search the next day revealed a 30 amp fuse holder under the floor, about a foot aft of the battery box. Sure enough it was blown and a new one got the slide back in operation. I had read and re-read the manual, but must have missed mention of it somehow.
Other than that, we had no other issues at all during our 5 day camp. Everything worked as it should and we all had a comfortable and enjoyable time.
As we become more familiar with our trailer, further observations and opinions will be posted.

Glad you found it. Now I need to go looking for it too, just in case. We are headed to the ocean next week in DE. Where did you go?

I received my slide lock via UPS today after calling Greg at Rockwood last Thursday. Pretty fast. I, or maybe my wife, received a Rockwood hat too. I need to call Greg & thank him for all the help.

We decided to stay close to home. Spent a few.days at one of our local favorites, Interlochen State Park here in Northern MI.

Im puzzled at the radically different experiences people have had with Rockwood customer service ? Some exceptionally good, and some absolutely horrible. Curious it is.

We like 'close to home' also. Our 1st trip with the new trailer was only 15 minutes from home. It was much better than we expected + the red & black raspberries were ripe so we helped ourselves. Wild ones are a bit hard to pick vs. the grocery.

I have always had good luck with customer service but there are some that it is just a lost cause (Comcast internet comes to mind). Greg fixed what he could after he found out that I had talked to the dealer about it & had some conflicting views here on the forum. He did not offer a fix to the drawer that slides out as the dealer was going to install a magnetic catch to hold it. However, if I had the trailer in Millersberg, I think he would have fixed it also.

We were traveling through Indiana and had a question on our slide, so we called the factory at Millersburg and they were great to work with. We got there mid afternoon and found that the plant goes home early because of the heat they work 5am till 1pm but the plant manager stayed to take care of us. Great experience with the guys at FR
