I can't comment on the RAM but I tow a 8289WS with a 2014 Silverado 1500. I added rear air bags and heavier tires. We've taken a couple trips in this setup, and I'm pretty happy with how it tows. Id love to have a new 2500HD dmax but that isn't in the cards for awhile.

It pushes the upper limits of the trucks ratings. Make sure the loaded hitch weight isn't higher than the trucks payload rating.
