Question Anyone using the JT strong arms or another kit on their "electric" stabilizers?

I want to get the JT Strong Arm kit (Lippert 191025 JT's Strong Arm Travel Trailer Stabilizer Kit), but it looks like the kit is made for scissor style stabilizers. They state they can be mounted to electric ones, but you have to buy two sets of another type of kit (Lippert 314597 JT's Strong Arm Stabilizer Electric Jack Adaptor Kit). Is there any Rockwood TT owners that have don this with electric front and rear stabilizers, not scissor jacks? Just seems like a waste of the 2 extra bars that come with the kit to me. What's worse, is they don't make a kit for use with 4 bars and the necessary adapters.

Is there another kit that can be used by another manufacturer?

I started with Steady fast mounted to Electric stabilizers. But ended up removing electrics and installing good old fashion scissor jacks with the steady fast all movement gone.

Use homemade ones on the front landing jacks and homemade ones on the rear electric stab jacks with reinforced legs. No problems and the trailer is rock solid. I also moded a set of rear electric stab jacks and mounted in front of the axle.

I will take some when I get home. My trailer is a sob but will be the same as yours.

Another thing I did was add scissors jacks in front of the axles to help stabilize. Made a big difference.

Someone recently posted about using his ratcheting cargo bar to stabilize in the same manner as the BAL and Steadyfast, at about $25 a pop.

Looks like you'd need 3 of them, at about $75 total, vs the several hundred dollars for the BAL/Steadyfast systems. Of course, you have to install and remove them every time you camp.

I plan to try this with my cargo bar next season and see what happens.

I have one of those for my truck! How do you make it work without ruining the function for the truck?

Not sure what you're asking.

These things can extend and retract (hence "ratcheting"). You do the coarse adjust with the ratchet handle and the fine adjust is done by rotating the bar, which screws the ends in and out.

So take it out of the truck bed, put one end against the bottom of the scissor jack and the other end against something solid on the frame and tighten it up. When you break camp, take it out and put it back in the bed of your truck.

Of course, if this really works as claimed, you'd buy 3 of them just to use as cheap(er) stabilizers and leave the other one in the truck.

Or buy 2 and use the one in your truck, too.

Sorry. I didn't make them. They are the bal lock arms

For the price I didn't think it was worth trying to make them.

Does this just stop the sway back and forth or does it help with the bounce since electric you cant get as tight as manual scissor jacks? I don't have sway but i do have bounce i wouldn't mind getting rid of.

The best way to get rid of bounce is putting jacks in front of the axles against the suspension framework.

The stabilizers being discussed in this thread eliminate most of the sway and rocking but doesn't help much with 'bounce'.

The bounce mostly comes from the deflection at the center of the frame (lightweight frame supported on either end by the stabilizers) especially on units with torsion axles.

the only way to eliminate that is by adding another set of stabilizers to the center near the axles. Many here have adapted an electric stabilizer jacks (like those used on the rear) to the center and others (like me) use manual stabilizer jacks.
