I am looking at getting a 2012 V-Lite 30WTBS. My current trailer, "2008 Jayco Feather LGT 311" has the water heater controls on the control panel on the inside. If you want to use propane you switch the propane button, if you want to use electric, you switch the electric button.

Is it different in the v-lite? Do you actually have to go outside to turn it on with electricity? That seems a little strange to me and very inconvenient. Could it be different for the 2012 units.

Our 2012 Windjammer is set up set up that way. Once I know water is in the hot water heater I flip on the electric button outside. I turn on the propane from inside for about 20 minutes to get the water heated up and then shut it back off. The electric stays on until we pull out of camp. So far it really hasn't been an issue.

Also, several have added an electrical switch inside the TT for convenience or use the fuse/breaker to control the electrical side of the WH. See this thread regarding the mod to install a switch. http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ight-9008.html

We picked up our 2102W last June and have not seen another Jammer or other Vnose on any of our travels. We love the big front bath and would not even consider a change. May be we will find others when we head south out of the snow in April for three weeks in the sun. We are towing with a 2007 Expedition that doesn't seem to be quite enough but can not afford to buy a truck right now.

Wonder how many of us V nosers will be at Elkhart in Aug. We are going inot season 3 and just came back from the locl RV show last weekend and there is still nothing out there we would replace our 30WRLS with. Every year we make one change to it though. last year was the recliners with ottomans and this year is a power tongue jack and new tires.

We were planning on bringing ours to the Rally but then something unexpected (but pleasant) came up so we had to change around some summer plans. I really wanted to go into the production plants. Maybe another time. Just hope the pointy noses are well represented.

I plan to attend the Int'l Rally in August with my V-Lite 30WFKSS. Looking forward to meeting more V-nose owners. See you there!

Hello all. Just ordered a Flagstaff 30WTBS, which has the quad bunks in the front and rear bedroom with slide. So excited to start camping. We should get it sometime in the middle of April. Getting the Equalizer Hitch 1200# system. Anyone done a factory tour in Elkhart, Indiana? Thinking about going there.

We just purchased a V-lite 28WRBS today. Very excited for retirement in June and some travel time in 2012. Joined this forum to get our questions answered as I am sure we will have many.

Congrats and welcome to the V-lite family. We just ordered a V-lite last week as well. Can't wait for it and the spring time to come and start camping again. Let me know how you like it.

Hello everyone! We bought the 3001W about 10 days ago, picked it up this past Saturday and of course went camping for the night. Low of 22 and no problems with the tank heaters on. Loved it! Was sad to re-winterize it. The dealer switched my Reese weight distributing hitch off my old trailer and installed it on the Wind Jammer. The few miles I towed, it seemed to sway quite a bit, although it was very windy. I've seen the Equalizer hitch mentioned on here quite a bit. Has anyone switched to this and noticed a significant difference from the standard weight distributing hitch I currently have?

Steve

We get our 3008 next Tuesday. After reading the reviews on the Equalizer here....its now sitting on my work bench all ready to go! lol Every review I've seen seems to rave at how well this hitch does with sway, so I'm pretty confident it'll be fine.
What kind of TV are you using Indy?

Towing with a 2010 Nissan Armada with the auto-leveling rear suspension. Thinking I want to see what it's like without huge wind gusts before looking into the Equilizer.

Our V-Lite 30WTBS is due off the line in mid April. I am going with the equalizer as well. Great reviews on it and it hooks up so easily with the v-nose type trailer.

Since you already have your hitch you could ad a sway arm for less than $75 and try that.
Being a windy day for your maiden voyage probably gave you a worse case senario, but it will get windy...."again" while your on the road. If you have sway, you have to STOP it, before it stops you. The problem being is when you get just that right frequincy from passing trucks and the sway becomes amplified, even more so than wind sometimes, and can lead to a sway of "no return". (Remember to lock up those trailer brakes if she starts getting wild back there).
The Armada is nearly at it's limit with a GVW trailer @ 8812 and the Armada at a towing capacity of 9100. Unfortunatley most manufactures over rate towing capacity.
Just remember the value of both vehicles, the persons inside, and the people around you on the road, not to mention your white nuckle experiences without sway control. RVW had the 1200lb equilzer for $450 bucks....WELL worth the money for the best you can buy.

Going to give the Dual Cam HP a try since it pairs with my existing weight distributing hitch. http://www.reeseprod.com/content/pro...ID=1655&part=0
