We've been at Casini Ranch in Duncans Mills, CA since Monday with our brand new (we picked up from the dealer on 9/19) 2016 Ultra-V 2715VS. We're out all day today doing a little wine tasting in the area, get back to our site and what's pulled in right next to us but a Jammer!

We spent a long weekend at Crystal Springs COE on Lake Ouachita just west of Hot Springs, AR. On the way there we passed a Windjammer traveling East. At the campground we saw two V-Lites. Decided to take a look at Denby Point COE just a bit further west and there were three Windjammers in that campground.

Just returned from a 5 week 3 day 4600+ mile excursion from Denver to Bend, OR to Yakima, WA to Astoria, OR and down 101 to Ft. Bragg, CA before heading east to Colorado. I saw only TWO Jammers on the whole trip plus one being transported to CA but I don't count those being transported. The first one was near Clear Lake, CA which was a 2015 3025W. I talked to the owner while refueling but forgot to ask him if he knew about the FR forum. The other one was in Wells, NV which was an older 3008W like my 2012 in a RV park. No other V-nose trailers were spotted either.
I don't believe Windjammers are endangered...it's just that not many RVer's know the many advantages of the V nose.

Enjoyed Mama Gerties back in 2011 on our last long trip with 1988 Holiday Rambler. Hail totaled it at home in 2012. That is a very nice place and hope to get back in a longer Blue Ridge trip.

We are on our first trip with our 2016 windjammer 3008w and love the front kitchen which is why we bought it plus the quality in the build for Rockwoods in general. We are towing with a f150 with v6 3.5 liter ecoboost engine with tow capacity of 12,200. Mileage hasn't been that great but did quite a bit of traveling in the mountains. Also have the equalizer hitch and have had some sway issues so mostly prefer to stay below 65 mph. Tried readjusting weight but wonder if others have had similar sway problems and any hints to solve this issue.

I have a short box quad cab 2500 Ram. Also use 2 friction sway bars and keep hiway speeds to 60 mph. LR E Carlisle tires on the Vlite and LR E Michelin tires on the truck. 75 psi in all tires. I keep an eye on what's coming up behind me so I won't be caught off guard. Only have a slight push/pull with the big trucks passing me. I believe the heavier frame (2500) compared to the 1500 and the longer (long box) frame makes a difference in sway.

Of course, this debate has gone on for decades and will continue.

I'm sure somebody can pull their 5W with a moped.

Hmm, I didn't know Dodge made mopeds!

I have only towed my WindJammer 3006WK once so far but it was about a 2hr tow home. I also have the Equalizer hitch and had no issues with sway. I ran between 55 and 60 mph, for the most part speed control set at 60mph, Calif limit is 55mph for a towed trailer. I had a lot of Big Rigs pass me with no effect at all. I have a short bed Dodge 2500.

In your case the tail is wagging the dog so to speak. I suggest investing in a sway control of your choice and by all means get rid of the cheap, crappy and inadaquate LR C tires and upgrade to LR E. You'll find that the stiffer sidewalls in the LR E tires will help keep that 35 footer in a straight line.
You may find other ideas posted in other threads on this forum.

Hi replaced the TT tires with LR E Carlisle tires also. Big difference to the better in towing performance with my 2015 30wikss V-Lite same TT as the W3025.
Bought my tires from discount tire for about $510.00. Sold new LR C tires from TT to lawn service for $200.00 that came off TT two days after TT came home in March. Make sure that when you replace with new tires they have a born on date not more that 3-4 month old.

Hope this helps Tim

Saw a WindJammer today around 4:30pm PST with the Diamond Package. It was on Hwy 37 headed out of Vallejo, CA towards Novato, CA, stuck in traffic unfortunately. First one I have seen since we purchased ours. It had the bed slide in the front so it was a different model than our bunkhouse 3006. I was so surprised to see one, I startled my wife yelling "hey look a WindJammer!".

Going to finally camping this week, can't wait to try it out.

Funny, we went through Vallejo heading west on Hwy 37 towards Novato but at about 12 noon on Friday in our Ultra-V.

Saw what looked like a 3029W Jammer at the Pomo Campground in Ft. Bragg, CA today.

We then saw a V-Cross heading west on Hwy 128 not too far from Hwy 1.

V-noses are indeed out in force this week!

Bob

Camping at Russian River RV Resort near Cloverdale CA, there is another WJ here, looks like a 3008. Walked by about a half dozen times so far and have not seen the owners yet.

Took our maiden voyage over the Christmas weekend - 2016 Windjammer 3025W- Diamond Package. Within two hours of setting up - a 2016 V-Lite Diamond Package pulled in to the next site....also on his maiden voyage. Met two new happy campers and had great conversations about our V-Nose' all weekend. Camped at the RVC Outdoor Destination in Pine Mtn. Georgia - less than two miles from Calloway Gardens. Plenty of pull through sites, but the paved area of the pull through is just about exactly as wide as your trailer. Sites were reasonably sized. Garbage pickup twice a day. Clean bathrooms and showers. The one thing I just didn't like is that they have permanent trailer residents. Those sites just looked terrible. We won't go again, simply because the only thing to do in the area was Calloway Gardens - Christmas in Lights. Pine Mtn. is very small and extremely limited. The only grocery store took 2.5 days off for Christmas. We ended up driving to LaGrange - 17 miles away to stock up for the weekend. The most important thing was that our Windjammer was absolutely the best we have ever experienced in Camping. We found some minor fixit ticket items, but everything worked as it was supposed to. Very, very pleased with the purchase.
