Axle Spacing

We just bought a Windjammer 3006WK and I noticed that the axles are very close together. When I tried to use my between the wheels tire chocks they would not fit. Is there a expandable tire chock that works with these trailers?

Which wheel chock did you buy? They do make a thin one that should work, I'm sure another owner will chime in, I doubt if they changed the spacing, my axles are close to on a Rockwood frame.

If you can find some used Rotochocks (RIP), they were excellent for narrow axles.

We use "BAL X-Chocks,Model# 28005 that go down to 2-1/2" BAL also makes Model# 28010 that goes down to 1-3/8"! There is NO cut and dry Standard on Wheel Spacing,be Sure to Measure! Youroo!! Adventure RV has the Model# 28010 for 32.00$@

On my 2306, I can place 3 fingers between the tires, which would be about 2 inches. Therefore I bought the small Camco Wheel Stop, designed to fit 26″ to 30″ diameter tires with tire spacing of 1-1/2″ to 3-1/2″.

Works great!

The regular Bal X-Chocks work fine on ours.

Thanks for all the help. I bought some Ultra Fab Super Grip chocks, and they fit. They look very similar to the Bal X-Chocks.

I wonder why these axles are so close together, I thought the trend was to increase the width between the wheels for better handling.

There's not a 'regular' X Chock. I have 28005, they worked fine.........UNTIL I got MorRyde Independent Suspension 2 weeks ago. Now wheels are too close together for that model. I will have to get 28012 model to hope to fit in between.
Meanwhile, a friend gave me some very old X Chocks he had in his garage, and if I undo the screw to the max, they barely fit. They aren't what I want long term, but they fit. Even the 28012 say down to 1 3/8" but there's no way they'll minimize enough to work with a gap that small. About 2" is small as I can hope for.

If I measure, the gap is about 2 5/8". But the 28005 will NOT go in there, period. I've tried everything short of a sledge hammer.

So I guess they go for sale........and either I use these old ones, model unknown, or get some that will work. Many folks say they are worthless, but they sure did help when they worked, IMHO.

I may have misunderstood, but on the factory tour, I believe they mentioned the closer the axles are to each other the less stress is put on the wheels when turning. So, now that I wrote that, it occurs to me, it would also mean they could use cheaper components, thus reducing cost...
