Backup camera wiring
Hello. I am new here. I have a 2017 Rockwood mini lite 2304KS. My problem is, I have no power to the "pre-wired" backup cmera connection at the back of the trailer. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for this trailer? Or, can anyone tell me where the backup camera power originates?
Thanks

How about if you turn on your running lights.
It would make it simple to tap into those.

Chances are good that the power to the camera will only come on if you are hooked to your tow vehicle and have your parking or headlights on. Most backup cameras are hooked up to the marker lights circuit of your camper and that's the only time they are energized.
If you are already aware of that fact and have tested it with your TV hooked up and lights on, I'd verify your marker lights are on but the camera's not. If that's the case, I'd remove the camera mount and look for a loose wire, directly from the camera to that circuit.

Not sure I'd call yourself new, since you've been a member for 3 years.[emoji6]
There is no wiring diagram available.
You may need to turn on the trailer's clearance lights on to provide the power.
That's what i have to do, on my 2016 TT.

backup camera wiring
Thanks for all the quick inputs.
I have tried hocking the truck up to the trailer, turned on the running lights and even put the truck in reverse. Nothing seems to work.
I will try removing the camera mount to check for loose wiring.

Are the Geo/E-Pro wired for back-up or observation cameras?
Parking lights on for power to work?

Backup camera wiring
I think I'll go with the solution offered by kenandterry. I'll just tap into the marker lights. That way, when I want the camera, I'll just turn on the parking lights.
Thanks for the help

If you can see the wire color at the camera check the 7pin junction under the aframe. If they wire it seperately they should run it to there but most are just tied to marker lights.

Backup camera wiring
Problem solved! After double checking, as many of you suggested, the camera connection is powered when the clearance lights are on.
Thanks again for all the helpful hints.
