battery powered sonic pest repeller

Age old issues with rodents getting into trailer over winter. This year they chewed up our furnace ducting. Bummer!!! We have used all the recommended suggestions, e.g. mothballs, peppermint, removing all foodstuffs, BBQ's, toasters etc. Still they come. I acquired a battery powered sonic repeller from Amazon. It varies the sound and can only be heard by animals, e.g. 23000-26000 cps. Tried it on our dog. He flicked his ears a couple of times so I assume it is emitting something. We cannot hear anything. Have any of you had experience with electronic repellers?

We played with them a couple of times. We tested the mosquito, gofer, and mice ones and all did not work. We were showing the kids how use the scientific principle on everyday items. The results were pretty funny and nothing happened. We live rural, so mice are always an issue. We have found that the best way to get ride of a quantity of mice is to use the roller in the bucket. You can buy rollers on Amazon pretty cheap. With a little peanut butter and 4" of water in the 5 gallon bucket, we can catch 2-7 mice a week.

I have had good luck with the electric traps also. We use them mainly in the living areas around the house. They are a bit more expensive than the snap traps, but they are a lot easier to clean up.

Good Victor traps set with peanut butter.

You have to check them but you will get them all.

All the rest of the deterrents are a hope and a prayer.
We tried Irish Spring, Fresh Cab, Dryer Sheets, Mothballs, Rodent-B-Gone granuals, Wild Animal pee, Cotton balls with Essence of Peppermint Oil, Sonic Emitters, you name it.

The ONLY thing that gets constant results... Victor traps and peanut butter.

What in the world does this have to do with Rockwood branded trailers?

What in the world are you doing asking such a ridiculour question. I am a long time member of this forum and I was asking for the wisdom of other fellow rv owners how theyu deal with a rodent ;roblem. If you have no interest or suggestions, keep your opinion to yourself.

There's nothing wrong with your question. Rodents are an ongoing problem and I'm sure that people are interested in novel solutions. However, these forums have many different subforums for many different purposes. It's a perfectly reasonable question to ask why a general rodent question is being asked in a brand-specific subforum. It's probably worth your time to read and better familiarize yourself with the subforums and their various purposes.

Apparently they like his Rockwood a lot. They don’t like mine or I have just been lucky. I would be concerned with rats as they need a bigger hole to get in. I vote for traps with peanut butter & apple. I think a rat could get out of a five gallon bucket.

I would take out any food that isn’t canned as well.

I don't know about rats, but we used to have a problem with squirrels in the attic of our house. The only thing that worked was a radio in the attic playing county/western music (the little buggers seem to like other kinds of music).
