Beefing up Murphy Bed

I have a 2018 230bhxl wildwood lite and my murphy bed has a heavy duty latch that keeps the bed down in place.

Our Rockwood 2304KS is a 2016 model. I have been told that Forest River added a safety lock to the newer models to prevent the bed from accidently folding up when someone puts weigh near the head. Is there a way to add this lock feature to the older model? I would hate to see someone trapped in the folded up bed!
