Our 2016 Windjammer 3029 came from factory with the upper baffle. I put two 120mm muffin fans behind lower fridge vent cover to suck in outside air and also installed 2 small centrifugal blowers in the upper vent that suck the air out. I used the existing on/off bimetallic button switch that fed 12v to the original two terrible little tiny muffin fans that had be located half way up on a board between vents and had failed within one year due to being mounted flat. Fridge is amazing now, even on 97 degree days - no issues and QUIET too.

He has a 2016 that doesn't have the board. The rig with the board is his sister's 2020 rig. ( Check post #1)
The answer seems to be that he needs the baffle board. If he didn't buy it new, it's possible someone removed it for whatever reason.

The next question would be... are you the original owner of your rig? If not, the previous owner might have removed it thinking that it was a mistake. Otherwise, you might want to consider putting in a baffle.
Yes, original owner.

Guess I will be retro-fitting mine so it has the baffle.

Thank you everyone for your input.

We purchased a 2020 Rockwood Signature 8329SB in early February this year. It has a Dometic fridge and also had a piece of wallboard in the same place. It wasn’t wood, it looked like a scrap piece from the interior walls. After researching on the internet and finding some YouTube videos on the subject I removed it and installed 2 computer fans to move more air since the fridge wasn’t getting cold. I also installed fans inside the fridge from RV Cooling Unit Warehouse and it now stays super cold. I pasted the links below.

By reducing the top opening it actually causes more draft through the cabinet.

They started doing it on Open Range RVs around 2011.
I performed this very mod myself this summer. 👍🏻

I own a 33IK Cedar Creek and it also has the board in place, I think it must be there for a reason but not so sure. My camping buddy has 2015 Cedar Creek and it also has the board covering part of the vent. I was looking to remove the noisy fans and replace them with some that aren't as noisy and noticed the board.

Anyone else have a newer Rockwood with that baffle?

For what it's worth, Norcold requires the same baffle in slide-mounted fridges.

Does the 2016 have the slanted baffle at the top to direct the air sideways? It looks like it's there in the picture.

I took mine out added a small 110v fan directed upward that I plug into an outlet when refer is in use. Makes a high difference in cooling.

I have a 2019 8329SS. I have this board in my top vent. I cut part of it out to add two computer fans with a remote and a thermostat. The little fan that factory installed wasn't doing the job. Lots of air flow now and fridge is performing much better.

FYI I have the same "board" on my 2020 ePro. It's a clever way to force airflow over all the fins before exiting the upper vent...
