Broken Keys!!

Anybody else have problems w/keys breaking off in the door locks? Went thru 2 so far. Not ready to spend hundreds on remote locks yet.

No problems here, but did have a couple that were binding and hard to turn...couple squirts of WD-40 took care of that.

No sorry, I have always been in the habit from older campers pushing against the door as I turn the key to make sure it is not in a bind........

Maybe someone has an Idea we have owned 4 campers over 30 years & never broken a key as yet.......

Thanks, Not retired yet so i'm probably in to much of a hurry. Couple years to go.

Sounds like you need to adjust/lube the latch and don't force the keys.

The first cut in the key is right at the bow of the key, this area is where you hold the key. If the first cut is deep at the bow aften times the key will break at this point. If one is in a hurry and the key is not inserted all the way in the lock the key will develop a crack in this area from trying to turn the key. Inspect your keys and if you fine a crack in this area have a new one made.
