Bubbles in Roof

Hi All,

Just brought camper home. Did a thorough PDI but didn’t get up on roof, overcast and rainy.

Today: Sunny! Went up to treat them roof with my trusty Aerospace 303 and discovered air bubbles. A LOT of air bubbles. Rippling if material by vents. Is this normal, accepted, ok?Click image for larger version

Looks normal to me. I've never seen a rubber roof with absolutely no ripples or occasional bubble.

Just watch them to see if they grow.

If it really bothers you, send pics to the dealer and FR. That way if they do grow, you have historical correspondence to refer back to.

I have heard if it doesn't leak leave them alone.

But photo documentation IS a very good idea.

I would defer to anyone that has had an experience good or bad with it but mine has small ripples (fewer but similar) near the vent and ac that have not grown over the last 18mo.

I saw a few photos of folks that had very large bubbles that flapped in the wind. I would be concerned with that.

For what it's worth I did peel off the dicor in a few spots to put on vent covers and the rubber material was adhering to the roof even where the ripples were without issues and I reapplied the dicor. Mine did not grow or move.

Best of luck!

Bubbles on mine last week. The roof makers said, depends on temp and time of day. Advised me to just keep an eye on them. Went up a few days later, and yep bubbles changed places and moved. Funny? Will be keeping a very close eye on it.

If its an Alpha roof, it is a common problem. Mine got worse over 2 years time, replaced roof with flexarmor roof, no seams or caulking...

You can literally search here on "roof bubble" and find lots of threads.

Here is one example that I posted a while ago.

Good luck.
