Looking for advice or opinions,I have a 2306 and want to mount a 2" bolt on receiver to the rear bumper of my trailer,I'm looking to carry my generator on it, it weighs 110# that's with the receiver and carrier I was thinking of using.I read alot of bad things happening when doing this unless you have some heavy duty welding done to accommodate it.please let me know your thoughts and if anyone has any pics please send.
All sorts of reasons and threads concerning this subject. The general consensus of this forum that even hanging bikes back there is not a good idea, much less a 110 lb. generator. I would not do it.

Usually the bumpers are only rated for 100 lbs. If you have a spare tire on it that will use most of it. 110 lbs on a rack is hanging a lot of torque on a light duty bumper.

Salem factory rep said to me it's designed to hold a spare tire and that's it. Anything else voids the warranty. You can modify the bumper but that would also void your warranty.
I'm going to bolt on a 2" receiver on the front truck bumper instead for a bike rack.
