Bumping head and tired of it!

We have a 2015 Rockwood 8311SS TT with an angled kitchen sink which has a cabinet above it. My 5'4" wife continually bumps her head while doing the dishes. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what solutions have you come up with? We're ready to take a saw to the 3" drop lip extending below the cabinet.

So take the 3" drop trim off and cut it down or buy your wife a hard hat.

Maybe you wash the dishes and she can dry? I (me being the woman) do the dishes in our household too and I understand it would be aggravating, so I hope you're able to come up with a solution. Send a photo of the set-up

I looked at you tube videos of your model and I don't see any option other than removing the 3" drop lip. It seems that it was poor design to have a cabinet that low over a work area. I can't tell if it would be feasible to remove the cabinet completely or not.

I am 6'2" tall and bang my head on low over head cabinets every time a cabinet door is left open and when I don't pay attention reaching under the slide out areas in our TT, so I feel for your wife. (it hurts!)

I made a promise 44 years ago and hope she'll keep me for another 44 years, so no trade-ins for taller models. This is our first trip in this trailer and that's the only real complaint so far. Pretty great rig! I'll try again to attach photos once I figure out how. They didn't show up on my first post for some reason. Right now, my sweetheart wants me to cut back the front edge and the bottom edge of the end board. The trim is "T" shaped, where a tab is recessed into a slot that is cut into the board edge during manufacture. That will complicate things. It's a concern taking a saw to a brand new trailer though! I can't figure out how to include photo's. When I click on the picture image above this box I'm told to "enter the URL of my picture". The photos are on my laptop, not on the web. I'm 6'2" also, and the cabinet is in my way, but low enough to see. Thanks buffalohunter for taking the time to look up a video! That was very kind. I think I'll start with the pool noodles recommended by Bob Caldwell, and maybe wash per dkkirkland's suggestion. Thanks all!

Hi hang a ribbon or other objects dangling at eye height to worn you that you are close to the head banger. Be careful what you use to attach it to the fake wood. tape will peal the paper covering off the particle board when you remove it. I'm 6'2" and find the slide out more than I want.

I used the foam corner protectors that are used for toddlers to protect them from sharp corners on tables.

Our first trailer had a reasonably tall ceiling but the A/C in the aisle by the galley took two bumps to remember

each season!

This is exactly what we use too. You can get a pack of them at "babies r us". Here's a link for them, but you can search around for different packs with or without corner protectors and different colors to fit your needs. Munchkin Protect Fireplace Foam Guard - Munchkin - Babies "R" Us I have whacked my head several times on the cabinet by the entry way after standing up from tying my shoes. The cabinets on each side of the bed make for some early morning close calls too.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a piece of armourflex, it is a black foam rubber tube with a slit down it and it will slip over the edge and give wifey protection. It comes in several sizes, the smaller more dense type used for HVAC works great. Here is a link to what I'm talking about.
