Bunk ladder in 2306

In the last year of having our Rockwood 2306 more people (adults) than we expected have joined us in the trailer. That means many people (adults) using the ladder to get into the top bunk. Not kids like many others have. The ladder supplied with the trailer is just not cutting it. Especially in bare feet. Has anyone else modified the ladder, or put in a new / different ladder?

I don't have that model - but I looked at different ladders for our camper and ultimately came to that I think it would be "better" to make my own so that the ladders exactly the right size and the rungs are easy on the feet. I haven't done it yet, but I found various plans/instructions on Google:

https://www.google.com/search?q=bunk+ladder+plans

Seems like it ought to be pretty easy to make.

I made this ladder. Pretty easy with common tools. I used 3 8' sections of poplar that was finish grade. Measured the length, cut to size and the treads are 12" wide and I think 10-12 rung spacing so it was kid friendly. I also cut small pieces of wood to go under each step and screwed them all together and surprisingly it hold me. 240lbs. Took about an hour or two. Stain was stuff I had on hand. Then I took two small "L" shaped brackets and screwed one side onto the ladder and the other side is to just keep the ladder from sliding outwards. Total coat was around $25 with the urethane.

If it weren't all closed up, if get better pics for ya.

Thanks all. Ya, I'm gonna build a better ladder. Needs to have deeper steps like the one you posted pic of. The top bunk in the 2306 is pretty high and only a small opening to get into.

I couldn't even imagine trying to get into the top bunk. I always need one of the kids to close the window in the top bunk it is so tight.

I tried getting into the top bunk of our 2306... Once. It has become one of my wife's favorite stories.
