Do I need to take out the wheel when parked?

Hi,

On my geo pro 20bhs the hitch have a wheel at the bottom. Can I park it like that or do I need to take it out? Please advise.

Also anyone know what is reason with the wheel? what is it use for anyway? How it is possible that the wheel can stand up holding the trailer. this is some damn good design.

thank you

You can leave it on the ground thats what it is designed for. Chock the main wheels there is no need for anything under the tongue jack wheel. It is used so that you and move the rig without having to lift the tongue or attach it to a tow vehicle. This is very common on boat trailers and utility trailers.

The tongue wheel is very handy on lighter trailers to make slight adjustments when hitching. Some tongue wheels are kept in place with a hitch pin and can easily be removed. If you're camping in one place for a while, or the movement of the wheel when you're inside the camper is annoying, remove it and block it up.

The tongue wheel on Geo Pro 12SRK is great. Since the trailer weighs next to nothing I can rotate it to face the way I want to after backing into a campsite. Don't like looking at your neighbors - turn the camper. [emoji847]Click image for larger version

Remove trailer jack wheel??

When we camped in our pop-ups, we usually left the wheel on the shaft so that we could manually adjust the position of the trailer without re-hitching to the tow vehicle. When we graduated to larger, heavier TT's, we usually took the wheel off the tongue shaft and placed a special chock - shaped like a pyramid - under the shaft for extra stability. Then used the trailer jack to help level the TT. Always securely chock the wheels of whatever rig you have before leveling. Now we have a 5er, so no tongue wheel to worry about.

Just don't take the wheel off and then forget to put it back on when you head for home!!
