Same here.

Those items are provided by the dealer and not the factory but it really doesn't matter whether they throw it in for free or charge for each item... the BOTTOM LINE is the number you want to be comfortable with.

I could care less if the dealer charges me $600 for that stuff if they are $1k cheaper on the bottom line than everyone else.

We have bought all our rigs without batteries and bring our own when it's time to go home. Saves a little cash and we get much better batteries.

Cost of doing business & cultivating repeat customers and favorable referrals for new customers to purchase from them. [emoji3]

You can bet the cost is in there, even if it's not detailed. Ain't nothing for free

Well I dunno, people pay for 78 percent nitrogen, so 22 percent must be free....

yeah- I sell you the car- but when you want to have the engine with it- that'll cost you extra.
I just plain would run away. What do you want with a trailer without battery? You got to have one. And if he starts out this way- what else does he want extra? Air in the tires?
for me that would be a no deal.

I doubt it as the dealer had provided the sale sheet with factory numbers and there discount. This was a dealer that would make you come back to repurchase. I've seen the same campers at other dealers and saw they where higher due to the add ins and listed as dealer fees and prep. . Not all dealers are like the ones I have dealt with. Later RJD

Too me too. Dealers usually install bargain basement batteries and propane is pretty cheap today (I'm paying $1.30 a gallon for my residential tanks).

Seems pretty cheap on the dealer's part. Considering the markdown's on most RV''s, I would surmise the profit margin on a unit is around 15-20%, plenty enough to cover a house battery and a squirt of propane.

Problem is, it's poor PR to not roll the price into the quoted sale price. It's the 'outta sight. outta mind' scenario.

As a dealer (which I'm not), I would prefer (from a customer dealers relations standpoint) not to come across as nickle and dimeing a customer on a sale.

In our business, when A buyer purchase a new or used road tractor, we fill the diesel tanks before they take delivery.. It's a 'goodwill' thing and you can bet the cost of the fuel is in the sale price.

The customer just don't see it. They feel good, we feel good and they come back and spend more money.

It's doing business correctly.

New RV with batteries and propane.

I have never bought a travel trailer that didn't have batteries and full propane tanks. As one said, "to tow it away you must have at least one battery. They may come dry from the factory, but my dealers have always included them in the price.

X2. Most newbies don't even suspect that they are delivered without a battery.

While I agree with the others on what should be included... if you have to buy batteries from him...get the ones YOU want and have him install them. If you're going the 6V route...suggest Trojan T105's...and get the jumper cable as well in the same gauge as the coach +/- wires.
He may charge you an install fee to hook up the remaining wires but that's a whole lot different than charging for 2nd rate dual purpose batteries you don't want anyway.
(If you go the 12V true deep cycle route....Look at Deka/EastPenn mfr. models that fit your space and have model #'s that start with DC as in DC24/DC27/DC31.

When I picked up My new 2017 Heritage Glen I had to buy an extra battery. The dealer supplied 1 to run the brakes, but the other was extra. @ 55k you think they' would have put in the extra battery
