Does anyone know what this would be?

We have a MicroLite 23LB, which is the sister camper of the Rockwood 2306. This trim piece runs alongside the bed on one side from the front of the camper to the kitchen cabinets where the furnace and sink are. Just wondering what could be inside of it. We were wanting to put hooks in it and attach a bungee cord to hold our trash can in place when traveling but we sure don't want to drill into a pipe or something. Any ideas?

Use 3M Command hooks, no drilling and you can reposition when you want to or 1/2" screws should only poke through maybe 1/4" or less

2nd the 3M Command Hooks. I'm sure there are wires in the wood casing and would be hesitant to send a drill bit thru the wood. I'm err on caution and use the command hooks like rsdata suggested.

Excellent idea about the Command hooks but just wondering if they would hold up under the pressure of pulling the bungee cord tight around the trash can.

I use the Command hooks to hold up our laundry bag. It gets pretty heavy and has never fallen down. Should hold a bungee if it isn't as tight as a banjo string.

I have a 2016 23LB but mine doesn't have that.
I will 2nd the 3M command hooks. I have several of the 3M command products. I used the picture hanging kit (like velcro on steroids) to hang a cheap full length mirror on the bathroom door and to hold the paper towel holder on the bottom of the cabinets. Several of the hooks on the wall for shirts, jackets and hats.

We have a 2012 micro lite 23 lb and I would guess the casing is carrying either electrical and/or water pipes. Our hot water heater is directly under the bed in the front storage. I agree with everyone else I wouldn't drill a hole.

We put our trash can under the sink. Obviously a small trash can that holds a day or two of trash. Any longer than that and we have ants.

The 2016 models have the hot water heater under the bunk beds which leads me to believe that the casing is carrying the water pipes.

That trim piece has the water hoses in it. I wouldn't drill any holes in it. We have the same trim piece in the bedroom under the closet slide. Fresh water tank, hot water heater, and water pump at the end of hoses in the basement under the bed.

Mine does not have this either. There is nothing under the couch or bed other than the wires for the marker lights and those run under the trailer. Mine has the Murphy bed so maybe the fixed bed has something under it.

Our 3m command hooks have all fallen off when the camper gets hot. Our unit gets to about 100 degrees during the week when we aren't there. All the stick on hooks gave it up.. Going back to small nails but not where we would hit any pipes or wires.

Fell off? Did you do all the stuff on the directions? Just curious because I've never had an issue through summer or winter with them.

I use command hooks to attach pretty much every and any thing to the trailer walls. I even use the strips to hold things to the wall when I'm not sure where I actually want something - that way when I change my mind or we find the item is in an inconvenient place, we move it. I've wasted a lot of command strips and saved the trailer walls. There is also 'permanent' double sided tape that can hold heavier weights than the command strips, I've used it too. And... We've never had them fall off the walls no matter what the temp was or how heavy the item.
