Dometic Refrigerator Noise
The refrigerator fan in my 2015 8289WS makes a very loud noise. I know it's been discussed on this forum in the past but was wondering if anyone has heard of any new fixes or recalls.

Wouldn't that affect factory warranty?

So keep the factory fans and put good ball brg fans in and if something goes wrong, put the factory ones back in. Problem solved.

Dometic Noise
I believe Dometic switched from a 5" cooling fan to a 3" fan in the 8289WS.
They claim the noise is normal.

The Fan (there is only one) in the 8289WS is a 92mm high speed fan with about a 60 CFM capacity.
Here's my post on reducing the fan noise (Post #4 and #8)

Another way is to leave the factory fan in and just unhook it and mount a pair of ball bearing fans down low to blow across the entire back and hook them to the original factory wiring.

I replaced the one hi speed fan, 4k rpm 4.7 watt 75 CFM. Replaced with two fans 1.2k RPM, 1.8 watts, 44CFM. A little more airflow a little less current draw and allot more quiet, can't hear them at all inside the RV unless I hold my ear against the wall that the refrigerator is located on. Maybe I should have kept the noisy fan because of warranty on the box, I chunked it in the trash. Oh well! OC always has a better idea.

I like the 2 smaller quieter fans idea but another option is a switch so
you can shut the fan off at night when it's typically cooler and the
fan isn't needed and you are trying to sleep.
Problem with that is you have to remember to turn it back on in the
morning.....
I know if I get another rig with a noisy fan I'm gonna replace it right away.
It's a darn shame that dometic doesn't listen to us and just put in quieter
fans in the first place!!

At first I thought about a switch but here in Texas in the summer some nights don't fall below 90*. Wouldn't want to damage the fridge because of hot high pressures. Don't know about yours but I couldn't ignore the noise from the old fan when we were awake in the daytime unless the radio or tv was blaring.
