Dometic toilet replacement 2511s

Has anyone replaced the Dometic 300 with a Dometic 310 or 320? I’d like to install the 320 but I don’t think it will fit.

I replaced with 310 in 2019 2511s and it just fit. Not sure the 320 would fit.

I've got a 310 in transit to replace my 300, but it hasn't arrived yet. They did tell me it would require more room, but I believe my unit has enough space to allow it without problems.

You can download the installation manuals from dometic to compare the space requirements. You will need to check the various manuals available for each model to find the right one, but once you find the correct manual, you should be able to use the listed measurements to figure out whether or not you have enough room.

https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/sup...ic-300-_-25296

https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/sup...ic-310-_-25291

https://www.dometic.com/en-us/us/sup...ic-320-_-25297

Here's a screen shot of the relevant sections from the 300 manual. It actually contains the dimensions for all three units, so if you don't want to go through the hassle of downloading the manuals, you should be able to use this:

On Dometic's website, it contains the necessary dimensions so that you can see if it can be installed in your camper.
I had to replace our Thetford last year with a Dometic 310. The 320 definetly would not fit. The 310 initially also would not fit but I rotated the floor flange slightly to allow for the longer toilet. However, I believe the 310 is the same size as the 300. It is a nice toilet and much better than the Thetford it replaced. I also added an in-line shut-off that reduced the strain on the pex supply line and made it easier to take the toilet on and off.

Reason I asked is we’re getting the dreaded urine smell from our 300. Talked to a very understanding and helpful lady at Dometic this morning who is shipping me a new 310 with self closing normal toilet seat for $75.

I already have the dimensions for the three sizes, was just hoping we could go with the 320 but I think the 310 will be fine.

Thanks for the responses.

Heh.. I just did the same thing earlier this week for the same reason. We'll see who's shipment gets here first.

I replaced an old 310 with a 320.

The dimension most critical is the 11" required between the center of the drain to the wall behind the toilet. I only had 10 3/4". The problem is the rear most portion of the toilet is the cover over the top of the anti-siphon valve for the water inlet to the toilet.

I solved that issue by using a diamond cutter on a 4" mini grinder and cutting off 1/2" of the back of that cover. It was quite easy to do and let me install that 320 so we have an elongated toilet. WOW, what an improvement!

Im attaching a copy of the installation instructions. The diagram and Rough-In dimensions are at the bottom of the page.

You are getting a new 310 for $75.00? Is it under warranty?

Mine, after 4 years of full time use, is leaking where the porcelain top attaches to plastic bottom. Called Dometic who told me they are attached with bolts. Need to take the toliet out, turn it over to see the bolts, and tighten. I am having that done on Monday. In case that does not work, price a new 310 at $210 plus labor.

Mine is still under warranty. Less than one year.

I installed the 310 in my 2019.5 2511S and is fits the space just fine. It has the self close wood seat and hand sprayer. The hand sprayer works great to pressure clean the bowl and it has not leaked.

We replaced the Dometic 300 plastic toilet in our 2511S Mini Lite with the 310 porcelain model....it installs exactly the same as the 300 - took 15 minutes and did NOT need any additional space.

Dometic had a design flaw in the 300 model toilet (not sure what time frame that covered). Call them with your serial number and they will tell you if yours is a defective unit - they replace the 300 for free and offer the 310 for $75. Our 2020 did not have a defective unit so our replacement was voluntary out-of-pocket

Did you install a ball valve with the 45 degree turn knob?

We "just" replaced the 310 that came in the Windjammer with a 320 I got from Amazon warehouse for a song. Ours sits in a corner, so the 11" was not an issue. The floor
dimensions of course were identical as both johns share the same pedestal. 20-minute job. Now, I have the room I need and a real wooden seat.

310 should be here soon. Smell is really starting to bother me and the amount of waste is accumulating. [emoji15]

No smell issues at all with our 310. Very happy with ours.

Did mine this morning while my wife was at the bathhouse. Love it. [emoji106]
Now the problem is the plastic recycle bin is full at the campground and I’ve got a stinky toilet sitting outside. Guess I’ll have to at least rinse it out till the bin is dumped.

Oh hey! That's not fair! I didn't realize you were staying in warmer climes and could perform the update easily...

Oh well, I'll get mine installed before my first outing of the year, so all is good!

It was very easy they recommended that I save the backflow preventer and the valve off the old toilet in case they ever failed on the new toilet. That was the hardest part.
