Double check my analysis, please

For some reason my television no longer works on cable. It has in the past, but not now. It's a Konika TV coupled to a Genesis 3.0. Not helping is the fact that the trailer is stored with no access to electricity or cable for that matter.

• Antenna up, amp ON, scan for channels on AIR (scan all channels, digital and analog) - works fine.
• Amp OFF, park's cable hooked to external jack marked CABLE, amp OFF, set TV to scan for CABLE (scan all channels) - nothing.
• Run cable directly from park's jack to TV, scan and - Voila! it works.

So... I conclude it's either
1) Open circuit from outside to amp (I checked the connection at the amp and it's tight)
2) Malfunction in the auto switching that toggles between cable and air in the amp (need to buy a new amp)

Keep in mind, for the first two years I've owned the TT, I only hooked up to cable twice, but it worked both times.
Thoughts?

Check the fittings behind the wall connection and make sure one didn't come loose, double check you are connecting to the actual cable connection on the outside and not the sat if you have that. you have all the correct steps as I know them.

X2 on checking your connections, They certainly can work loose over time. The next step I would take is to remove the cable coax from the back of the booster and hook it directly to the tv. That will tell you if it is the booster or if it is in the coax running through the coach.

Thanks for the suggestion. This will require a splicer fitting and more cable to reach.

I didn't make that mistake. BUT do you know if I can switch the TV input cable to SAT inside the trailer and hook the park's output to the SAT outside thereby bypassing the amp/booster?

Did the switch button inside the camper get pushed from antenna to cable or visa versa? I had to learn that lesson the hard way!

The only "switch button" I know of is the push button on the signal booster. When ON, the antenna input works. (see bullet list in my first post.)

As suggested previously, bypass the booster circuit board with a short cable and barrel connector, if TV works, booster is NG and needs to be replaced. Or continue to use the satellite input.

There is a lot of vibration in rvs going down the road. If you can remove connection panels and check connections, you may find a loose one. I installed a Sat box in a cabinet back in 2012 when we got the tailgator. This past trip I could not get a signal from the tail. thought it went bad. Just for whatever, pulled box out and it had unscrewed itself! Hooked back up, all is good.

Did you change the TV to Cable from Air? I would start there first.
