Fridge MOD Question

So I want to disable my fridge heater. After seeing this, I'm not sure I have one. There's supposed to be a "big" wire in here.

Thoughts?

The 2652 has the heater. They probably decided to use the same size wire to make it easier on the mfg of fridge not having to install different size wires.

Of course by using the same size wires, they make it harder to determine which wire feeds the heater.

Ok. Good to know.

So how is it wired then? One pair is incoming and one pair is outgoing. Basically that box is a junction box that also has the light?

If I clip a red and the light quits, I picked the wrong wire (feed)?
If I clip a red and the light works, I picked the right wire (heater)?

If that's true, it's easy enough. 50/50/90. Solder it back together when it's the wrong one.

Thanks for the reply!

Open the outside door of your fridge and look for the wiring diagram and schematic.

Should look like this:

Name:	Fridge schematic 2.jpg
Views:	134
Size:	223.3 KB
ID:	131844

Might help you figure out which is which. The schematic is lower left, while the actual wiring is upper right. Item K in both is the heater. Note the wire colors are indicated by numbers in the wiring diagram.

You might be able to have someone tug gently on the red wire at J2 outside and see which one moves inside at the light.

So yeah, take a guess or do the pull method.
It just didn't line up with the PDF that I downloaded, so I wanted to be sure.

So, there was no way to trace that wire from the outside. As such, I just guessed.
I clipped the one that was NOT held in by the post at the bottom. Then I put the clipped wire in the post/clip at the bottom so it didn't disappear into the fridge. I might put a switch on there someday. We'll see.

Anyway, the light works, so I must have picked the right one. Not sure how to verify the heater doesn't. I should have turned the fridge on and watched my current monitor while doing it, but I'm really cramming for our upcoming trip, so I didn't do any of that. I decided to clip the ground, cause it's position was easier to solder back together if I was wrong.

If you add a switch, we'll expect pics!

If I took a pic of a clipped wire......don't you think there would be one of a switch?
