I’m in Tuscaloosa and tripped a breaker running a ceramic heater. I know others have used them, where should I plug it in?

You must have other things on 120v AC power, like the WH or fridge.
You need to assess what you have running on AC power.

If Ceramic heater has dual settings, choose the lower setting and you will be fine. The breakers controlling the outlets in most TT are 15A. If there is anything else on that breaker, and you run it on Hi you will trip the breaker. Be aware if you run the microwave with the heater on you may trip the main breaker.

We have a 19FBS and prefer our ceramic heater to the propane heater. We always plug it in in the bathroom since that outlet is a GFCI. The cord is long enough to pull it out in front of the couch and point straight at the bed to keep us warm. We left it on for days last winter and it has never tripped it. Good luck!

All your other 110VAC outlets are daisy-chained from the GFCI in your bathroom. The other outlets "probably" (i.e., should) have a sticker on them saying something like "GFCI protected outlet."

It's a crappy picture, but here's the outlet under my kitchen sink. It says "GFCI protected outlet" on the left side (GFCI in large letters). My actual GFCI outlet is in my bathroom, like yours.




So plug it in wherever you like.

This is why I'm glad I got the optional heat strip for my A/C unit in my GeoPro. It is on a separate circuit from the outlets. Only worry is when I'm on shore power at home, I'm plugged into a 20 amp circuit. The heater alone draws about 14 amps. Gotta be careful what else you run at the same time or you trip the household breaker.
