GEO PRO 19FD Inverter

Hi,

I just bought a second hand 2019 Geopro19FD which came with a factory installed solar panel. From the 2019 brochure, I thought it would have come with an inverter. I tried to find the inverter and looked behind the panel in front left storage box and could not find it. I finally emailed Rockwood with VIN and asked them if there was one installed and they told me NO!

Is this normal? Was the inverter an option in 2019?

What would you suggest I install as an inverter and in particular where in the trailer? I'm looking at a 1500 watt inverter to run my Nespresso coffee machine and the fan on the furnace. I have the solar controller on the wall so I could connect the inverter to that controller.

We have a 2020 GeoPro with an inverter. It's located in the "closet" (or ward, under the TV) behind a removable panel. There is also a remote ON/OFF switch above the heater outlet (at the side of the bed).


Obviously, your floor plan is different, but I'd check in the closet/ward to see if there is a panel there.

I’ve checked everywhere and could not find it so I unscrewed the solar panel control box and discovered that there is no wire in the slot that would normally control the inverter. Conclusion: I don’t have one!

Next question, how complicated is-it to retrofit one?

My later 2019 has one. Earlier 2019 models I don't think had them. Mid year changes are normal in this industry.

Your inverter is in the front drivers side compartment behind the front most panel. The on off switch should be next to the couch on the same side, (across from the counter).

It should be there but it’s not there. It seems that it was not included in early 2019 production.

The inverter would have to be installed close to the battery and the fan on your furnace is 12 volt so you do not need 120 volt for it.
