Battery box sandwich!
Voilá! Like the old Midas commercial..."We'll MAKE it fit!" I think this will do the trick. The board was ripped to what I hope is correct width to fit inside the battery rails. We'll see if it fits between wall of trailer and propane cover. Will probably be close like your set up.

Glad to help, I did mine that way to get 3 group 31 12volt batteries to fit. The box in the picture on the tailgate looks sturdy. Is that why you plan to use it instead of 2 of the standard “marine “ boxes? I bet you are excited for tomorrow to pick up the new camper! Jay

Jay, it's like Christmas morning! It's 22 degrees here, everything is white with frost, and while the grown up (my wife) still sleeps, I am up, remembering I have to cut some branches above the driveway so as not to scratch my new toy when I bring her home!
Yeah, that's a commercial grade NOCO battery box, with a lid that screws down with a couple thumb wheels. Just seemed easier than messing around with straps and such. I probably could have saved 40 bucks plus 20 bucks of mounting hardware if I just used individual cheapo 6v battery boxes, but I figure this is my 'vacation home' why not treat it to something a little better.

I believe that today is “the day”. When you get it home, please post a picture of the battery box set up installed. Good luck today! Jay

It was too tall to fit in the space. I had to cut an inch off the top lip of the box to get it to fit vertically. The front of the trailer curves toward the battery and restricts the height. Note: Cutting the battery box worked fine.
Note the 6 volt batteries are plenty small enough. However, the height of the box could be a problem?

Any build/finished product pics?

I cut a couple little blocks and drilled through them to sandwich between the leading front corners of the box and the square metal girders I installed, so when I tightened the front bolts they would have something to tighten against.

NJKris,
Can you tell me what the largest height and width battery box can be for the 19FD? We pick one up next week and I need to order a minimum of 44 inch box but I am not sure how tall and how deep I should limit it to.
Thanks

My box is 13.5" tall at highest point on lid, and 12.5" measured front to back. As mine does not fit in between the battery rails (it is on top, with a board in between the rails to support it), I had to trim part of the cover on the trailing edge of the box (Dremel tool good to have for this) to make it fit, due to the curvature of the front of the trailer. I also had to move the propane tank platform forward a bit (drilled some new holes, no big deal). The propane tank cover is pretty friction fit between the power jack and the battery box lid now. It does take some slight bending of battery box lid and wrestling the propane cover a little to remove either cover, but it works. Thankfully there is an access door on top of propane cover to reach valves, so I seldom remove propane cover. It's been 2 years since I got the trailer, and finally spent the first propane tank. I try to use electric heaters when needed, and do a lot of my cooking outdoors. I have made many pots of coffee on the range top, and baked a bunch of stuff in oven so far.

Thank you so much. That helped me make a decision on the box. We ended up going with this one.

I have read a lot of your post and have appreciated all of the information you have shared. I cannot wait to start our journeys with our 19FD.
