Good news, Bad news!

Received some good news and some bad news from my dealer today. The good news is that our 2011 2304 Mini-Lite is sitting in Elkhart Ind, waiting to be picked up. The bad news is that because of the high cost of fuel they are having trouble private drivers to deliver them. Not sure if I would want to go pick it up myself without it being checked over pretty good.

How far away is it for you to go pick up?

picking up trailer

Your dealer should be "checking Out " your new trailer. Last fall when we found ours ,it was on the west side of Michigan, in muskegon about 230 miles away ,(slightly used )but a great savings vs new. They said it could be brought to my house for $250. I had bought a brand new truck and wanted to get around 1000 miles on it before towing . so let THEM do the inspection . if you have or can make the time have them demonstrate and explain take a camera or video and note pad. good lucl !

are you serious??? with all the profit they make on what we actually pay the dealer when we buy a new trailer, that should be no problem for them. ridiculous,-- thats part of their job , is to get the trailer to you! i hope it works our for you, that is frustrating!

The really dumb thing is that we were just in the area a couple of weeks ago visiting our son in Middleburry, right by Elkhart. Oh Well!

trailer pick-up

I am new to the rv stuff , i assumed most people pick up their rvs from the place they bought it from. Usually being local purchases. Mine was worth the trip having saved about $7000. being 1 year old and slightly used.

I live in Elkhart and everyday I see dozens of units headed out of town, last night at Meijer there were 2 Rockwood fifth wheels and a Kodiak in the parking lot - the drivers were getting supplies for the trip. I would question your dealer.

Question Trailer pick-up

Does your bill of sale or contract state , anything about YOU picking up the new trailer ?? Or was delivery included ??? Seems to me somebody wants to pass the cost increase on to you...

If it was me, as long as it would save me money to pick it up I would. partly because I am a rookie on trailers, so I had a lot of questions. Plus if there are any minor issues you can have them addressed right away.

Hmmm....I would contact the dealer and give them h#$l.
When we ordered our trailer we paid $650 for freight, so I am sure your dealer has charged you with it also. Its not your problem the gas prices went up in the meantime, and they should have forseen this anyways, and maybe raised the freight charge a bit initially.

My paper work says cash delivered price. It is dated Feb 24th. Not my fault fuel prices have gone up so much! Heading to the local dealer on Friday, hope hey don't make this more difficult than it has to be. I could not go to Elkhart myself because my WD hitch and brake controller need to be installed while doing my walk through when I go to pick up my TT.

delivered trailer

seems to me you have a contract for them to deliver. Therfore YOU wait for it .Or they cut you a check And you get it with your tow vehicle , And they pay you for time, fuel, etc
