Heat related delamination
We own a 2010 Rockwood Ultralight 2701SS. We have had no problems with the trailer up to now. In January while camping at the beach with friends from Church, my wife noticed a delamination above the rear window. We took it to a high end repair shop in Anaheim, CA and learned the delamination was not from moisture, but simply from heat. If parking your trailer in the sun will cause the walls to separate, then what am I to do, park only in the shade and keep the trailer covered. The shop removed a window near the failure and found no moisture. It appears the only solution is to replace the entire rear wall at a labor cost of $2,500, plus the cost of a new wall.
I find it amazing Forest River will assemble trailers with a glue which fails just from heat. Has anyone else had a failure where moisture did not cause the delam?
