Heated Mattress Plugin

I just took delicery on a Rockwood Mini Lite 2109s. I cant seem to locate where the controller for the heated mattress plugs into the mattress. At the walk thru the tech showed me the AC outlet and the controller but made no mention of where on the mattress the cord plugged into. I cant find it. Help!

usually in the middle at the head or the foot of the bed... it is a small connector that may be close to the edge

We used the heated mattress for the first time this winter. We have the Murphy bed with storage compartment below (cold air). It was nice and cozy at night. Level one was enough warmth for us once it warmed up (with a 2 inch foam topper on the mattress.

Good to know. I'm considering a topper. The mattress seems pretty stiff right now although I have not spent a night on it yet.

I wondered if anyone actually used them. We have never tried ours.

2015s model mattress

We just purchased a 2015 model and it came with the heated mattress controller. I searched all over that mattress and cannot find the plug-in. ???? Perhaps previous owners replaced the mattress... anyone have a photo of the location?

No picture but look at one end, in the middle on the bottom side... it is not large and does not stick out very much... almost looks like a fold in the mattress.

If the mattress folds, most likely you have the original mattress

the heated mattress?

If you camp in cooler weather and like a cold bed, then don't try it, cause it will cause the mattress to get warm and comfy... if you turn it on to 3 or 4 before you go to bed... after getting in I turn it down to 1 or maybe 2 if it is 40 outside.

So if we have a two inch memory foam on top of mattress, should we not use the heater? Just don’t want to create a fire hazard...

I use 1 1/2 inch regular foam on top of my mattress without an issue. I don't think it will create any fire hazard... especially if you keep it on 1 or 2... just enough to take out the chill.

When I have power available I turn my heated mattress on just before bedtime on a middle setting.

At bedtime I turn it off. Nice and comfy when going to bed and my body provides all the heat I need for the rest of the night. The pre-heating just prevents the "shivers" when first under the covers.

X2...
The wife loves the way this works. We use a mattress pad though.

With the heated mattress we find we use the furnace significantly less.

We are big fans of mattress heaters in general. At home, we have dual controls, one for her side and one for mine, which is really nice. Our home versions are designed with the heating wires closer together at the end to keep your feet warm and farther apart at the head. The plugs on these are always at the foot of the bed.
When we tried the heated mattress in our Epro 19FD, our shoulders got way too warm relative to our feet. I noted that the plug was at the head of the bed. Hmmm. So the next night we turned the mattress around and it felt way better.
Next, I read the directions (Hahaha) and it said to make sure the plug was at the head of the bed. I rationalized this by saying that it the directions were written by the legal department and must be too keep you from tripping on the cord in the middle of the night.
As yet I haven't looked real close to see if I can tell what the heating wire spacing is.
