Heated Tanks

What temperature do the heated tanks come on for the RV holding tanks ?

Are they always on when plugged into land power and what if you use your generator ?

I've seen 40 mentioned many times in here.

Mine are not always on. I have a switch. They are powered by 12vDC, not 110.

To combine posts #2 and #3:

There should be a switch somewhere inside your rig to apply power to the pads. The pads will then turn themselves on below 40 deg F and off above 40 deg. F. Note the 40 deg F is "nominal."

Turn the switch off and the pads won't do anything.

On my rockwood, instructions explain that the power switch allows them to kick on and off when temps drop to mid 40s.

Are just the black and grey water tanks heated or is the freshwater tank generally included when you buy the package?

There is a heat pad on my fresh water tank 2017 flagstaff/rockwood. Directions say do not heat tanks dry so you either need to disconnect it or put water in the tank

I have a heat pad on the freshwater tank in my trailer but it's only a Wildcat. I don't have electric heat on my pipes or valves which suits my area/method of camping.
