Height of camper

My Rockwood 2604WS is rated at 11'2" height. I need to go through a door (storage barn) that is 11'6" BUT the door is at the top of a ramp.

Does the stated height of the camper INCLUDE the A/C and Maxxaire covers?

Will the ramp prevent entrance? (I did NOT do well with math formulas)

Can you back in?

If the A/C and Maxxaire are standard equipment, usually the height would include those items. If those items are optional you should check the total height to be sure. I would check to be sure anyhow. Don't assume it's OK.

Do you have a ladder on your rig?

Get another person to help... will be alot easier.

If you have the ladder, go up with something long and flat, lay the stick, or piece of wood across whatever sticks up the highest on your camper, ac unit or maxair vent cover, have the piece you use long enough to hang out over the side of the camper and use a measuring tape to get an accurate height measurement.

Just measure from that stick to the ground.

That way you know exactly how high your camper is.

How close is the ramp to the door? Are you pulling in or backing in? If the ramp is close and you are backing in it could be an issue even if the hieght is ok

Also depends upon ramp angle and camper angle to vehicle. Can't assume it is level. Too many variables! Door measurement may not be accurate either.
Need to back it up with assistance to visually check.

The ramp is steep and ends shortly before the door. The door is into a large coliseums at a fairgrounds. Lots of campers winter there but I am cautious. I will be able to pull it in and out. The building is huge. I like the idea of measuring with the pole. Going to give it a try. Thanks, all!

May seem like a silly ideal to some , BUT there are times when less than an inch can be acquired simply by lowering the air pressure in the tires and especially if only for a minimal distance, then air the tires back up once inside.

Don't forget to reverse the procedure when removing from the barn

There have been several threads here where the height did not match what the manufacturer said it was.

The only way to truly know your height is to go out and measure it.
