Help - winterize
We have a Windjammer 3006WK and we don't know how to use the antifreeze port on the outside of the unit by the city water intake. Can anyone help us? We've drained the low point drain and drained/bypassed the W/H, but can't figure out how to pull the antifreeze in.
Supposed to get close to freezing tonight. Any help appreciated.

The first step is to drain the fresh water tank. Then turn on the water pump. Open a sink valves until the water stoppes running out and the pump keeps running. Then shut off the pump. If you have compressed air, hook it up to the city water connection and put some air in while opening faucets one at a time to get the water out of each. The way we did it was for me to hold the air gun to the city water port and the DW going around opening the faucets one at a time to get the water out of the pipes.dont forget outside showers, inside showers, and toilets. Once that is done, open up the valve to the antifreeze port. Mine is a three way valve that opens up the antifreeze port and at the same time cutting off the fresh water tank to the pump inlet. I made a tool out of a 6' piece of clear hose with a male garden hose connection at one end. I hooked up the threaded end to the antifreeze port and put the other end in a gallon jug of rv antifreeze. Then I turned the pump on, opened the faucets one at a time, starting with the farthest first and ran both hot and cold until it cameout pure pink. Don't forget the toilet. It takes more than one gallon so keep,an eye on that jug level. If you don't have a tool like I made blow any water out of the shortest garden hose you have and use that. I had no problems with the pump picking up the AF. If you do try holding the jug and hose higher that the anti freeze port. Jay

Oh sorry I forgot some things. If you do not have compressed air, just run the antifreeze through the pipes. It will take a little linger to see pink that is all. When all the faucets, toilets, and showers are pink. Pour straight AF down each drain to fill the p traps with AF. Also put some in the toilet to keep the seal wet. Then I drained out the grey tank. If I have missed something other people will chime in. This site is full of really nice, knowledgeable people. Jay

We don't have the compressed air. We drained FW, bypassed water heater, ran all the water out of the lines, removed water filter and turned valve by the water filter, hooked hose to the port next to the city water connection (says tank flush), turned the knob from city to winterize, and turned pump on. A little antifreeze pulled in to the empty filter holder, but nothing ever made it thru the lines. We tried holding the hose up in the air and pouring antifreeze in thru a funnel - still didn't pull it in. We're stumped.

1. Did you open up any faucets in the rv?
2. Did you also drain your water heater?

The connection you need is the "antifreeze " port. I have a connection marked "black tank flush" that is the wrong one and so is the "city water" connector. If you are on the right connector, shut off the pump, pull off the filter bowl and fill it up with antifreeze. Then close all the faucet valves except one and try again.
How long of a hose are you using? If its a 25 footer fill up the hose first. Jay

Any kind of air pump can be used to blow out the water lines, even a manual bicycle pump... You can buy or make a fitting to connect to the city water connection, does make it easier.
I had some antifreeze scum plug the filter on the water pump, you may want to try pulling that off and seeing if it got clogged up. You might even have this on the screen at the City water fitting.

The only ports available are "tank flush" and "city water".
Hose is 10'.
I will try filling the filter container.

New jam,if you r unit is a 16 it should have a Anti freeze port! If not unhook the suction side of pump and buy a short hose to use to pump AF into your system! Do a search at top for lot's of additional information! Youroo! !

The "tank flush" port is for the clean out of the black holding tank. Check for a hose and valve at your water pump. If you have a winterizing set up that is probably where it will be. There will be a selector valve to input either the holding tank or winterizing tube on the input side of the water pump.

Help - winterize
Here is a pic of the ports.
The red switch at the top is for the water pump. The white switch in the middle is a light.

It appears your city water port is also your antifreeze (winterize) port depending on which way the blue handle/valve is turned.
At least that's what I get from the decal and the blue handle/valve.
That is unusual in the fact that the city water port is internally plumbed to the outlet side of the water pump and an antifreeze port is plumbed to the inlet side of the water pump but without seeing what is hooked to and how the blue handle/valve is plumbed on the opposite side of that connection, I'm just guessing.

From reading past posts the water pump does draw from that city water port when winterize is selected. Don't know if any other valves in the system need to be set.

Wow! Mine is a lot different than that. Is that the only port on the entire camper that will accept a garden hose? Jay

Where the hose is hooked up in the picture, is that where you hooked up city water when you camped with the windjammer? Jay

Looks like the blue handle should be turned up ward then make sure you hook antifreeze tube to city water connection(not tank flush) other end goes into antifreeze bottle. Turn on water pump to suck antifreeze from bottle. Make sure you have turned handles on Hot water heater to by pass. Later RJD
