Sensor lights are worthless. Best you figure out what your "limits" are (For instance we have learned with usual use, we can go 2 weeks with the 2 of us before I have to dump the black tank.
Forget "looking" down the toilet. When you flush and you have that stinky smell, it's getting real close to dump time
If you are on full hookups, leave your gray & Galley dump valves open. A day or so before it's time for you to go, close them and (assuming you are not full time) pour about a 1/4 cup of pine sol and 1/4 cup of superclean in the gray, black & Galley tanks). When it is time to go home, try to fill the tanks with water and then dump. This will give you clean tanks for your next trip out.
