How do you identify the type of slides you have??

I am trying to make sure I doo the appropriate maintenance and lube the right parts on my slides, but I am not actually sure what make/type they are. Is there a way to identify them by looking?

just in case anyone actually knows the type on my trailer -it’s a 2017 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8324BS travel trailer.

Until someone with your unit chimes in, I'd check the paperwork that came with your unit. There's usually some kind of owners manual for the slide included.

Checked thru all the paperwork but can’t find anything specific to the slides.

I didn't get anything specific on the slides on my camper either.

What I did, was I got under the trailer, looked around, studied everything under there and figured out how it all works. I even had the DW run the slide in and out for a cycle so I could see the parts moving... that told me where things needed to be lubricated.

I learned a TON more about my camper by doing that, than I ever learned about it from reading the books. If you're even a bit mechanically inclined, that may work for you too.

One way to limit the type slides is to either describe what the sides of the slide box looks like, does it have a wavy track top and bottom, does it have cables showing top and bottom, does it have a electric motor and gear arrangement under the slide that drives it.
If you post a picture of the side and bottom of the slide I am sure some one that does not have your exact model may be able to help.

A picture or good description of what you have will go a long way toward helping you. Ours are hydraulic. They take drylube on the gear and track and silicone on the hydraulic cylinder. Not the same camper though so that may not be what you have.

You MIGHT have a Schwintek slide. Here's a couple videos:

If this is what you have, come back and let me know. I've got about 5 manuals for it.

unless its a wardrobe slide it is not a Schwintek. did a factory tour at the rally and that is all they use the Schwintek for in the signatures.

it should be the gears tracks underneath like I have. I am not sure who they are from but I suspect LCI as they come with the frame from LCI

Most likely you have a Lippert Slide. Here's a manual for you.

Thanks for the videos. My kitchen slide has those rails top and bottom on both sides. My living room and dining room slide have the rails underneath. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to lubricate there

You can also call the manufacturer with the vin number and they should be able to tell you exactly for your specific rv.

I always felt like I should lubricate something on the slide outs, but, the manual says not to lubricate anything. It could actually damage it. Had it for 6 years and it still is going. Only thing I do is put silicone (pure spray) on a rag and wipe it on the seals. Keeps seals from sticking. No leaks, either. Ours is a Lippert.
