Manufacturers brochure states "do not full extend the awning".

I have found that the awning flap just gets used to being in the rolled up position. I grab on to it and pull it down and it stays down and with the sun on it, it relaxes . In the pictures of the trailer being upside down, water won't stay on the awning that way but the bottom will fill up and you have a swimming pool type awning. Must be an Australian trailer. They hang by their toenails down under.

If you use oil or liquid based stuff on your locks you will attract dirt and debris. Dry lubes work best

Also shown in the owners manual set up the Awing to decline at about a 15 deg angle away from the coach. Drop one corner a few more to prevent puddling in rain. As pics show, flat is disaster waiting waiting to happen.

The heavy vinyl awnings are very "stiff" and tend to hold their shape around the roller. This and any moisture will cause the flap to stick to itself. As others have said, get a ladder and just grab the flap & pull it down. The ideal position for the flap is hanging straight down from the bottom of the roller. [emoji106]
