Installing a fireplace in a 2506S

The cabinet under the TV of a 2018 2506S would be a perfect place to install an electric fireplace. Unfortunately it is only 3 inches deep. Has anyone installed a fireplace here?Click image for larger version

There was a post where a member put a fireplace in a 2504s by taking the “fireplace out of the wooden case it came with. Where he put it was only about 3 inches deep also. Jay

Nice idea, would like to see pictures of this. Maybe a good mod for me to do.

I installed one in my 2504s. its in the cabinet under the tv in the wall at the end of the bunks. I bought it from camping world, removed it from it's enclosure, made a face for it to fit between the cabinet stiles, drilled a hole thru the shelf above it for the cord and put a vent behind it to keep from getting too hot in the wall. works with "flame" only or flame and heat. also made pull out drawers for pantry, magazine rack and put my power management in the storage under the bunk.

I also installed one in a 2604 in a similar space under the TV. I had to move the stock subwoofer, which was easy. Even if the fireplace insert is deeper than 3", you can make a frame to surround the part of the fireplace that extends outside the cabinet.

This is one of the best upgrades that I have made...looks good, heats the trailer well, and makes use of the mostly empty space under the tv.

Craig’s ter mi, you are the one I was talking about! Looks good to me. In our unit I use the space where the fireplace goes to store Vedio games/system. I am on the process of doing sliding shelves also. Jay

Portable fireplace heater was our choice way to go

We picked up a basic fireplace heater the we can use at home AND in our trailer. We can operate it with "faux flame" only, heater only, or both heat and "faux flame" (and on top of that the "intensity of the Flame" can be dimmed down and the heater is also thermostat controlled in the "high" setting and it will then automatically modulate between the "low" 750w and "high" 1500w setting depending on how much heat you are calling for when set in the thermostatically controlled "high" setting. The big plus of leaving it as a "portable" and NOT building it in is that we have the freedom of placing where ever we wish to have the extra heat and ambiance: we use it at home or in the trailer's living space OR in the trailer's bedroom on the dresser at the foot of the bed. Very nice and very practical addition where ever we choose to use it.

Fireplace install

I also installed a fireplace in my sunset trail travel trailer. Talked the fireplace out of cabinet take your doors off put fireplace insert up against cabinet center it and draw a outline of unit. Cut out and secure in hole finish holes on either side with 3/8 plywood and then I covered face with artificial stone from lowes it was awesome pics below

Hi All !

Well - I have pretty much given up on the idea of adding a fireplace under the TV. I won't know for sure, but it appears that there will not be enough room for it when the slide is in. That is probably the reason that the factory installed cabinet is only 3 inches deep. Once I pick up my TT I will check it, but I am pretty sure it won't work.

That is too bad - that location would be really nice for a fireplace.

jim,

you might be able to use one of those that look light a flat screen tv, I believe some of them may not be too deep.
