IRV system

The “entertainment system” in my 2504 keeps turning on all by itself. Any idea what is causing this or how to stop it?

Some others have reported this. You might want to do a search via the search field at the top of the page.

Only fix I can recall reading about was installing a switch in the power line.

Maybe someone else will chime in.

From the vintage of your trailer, I guessing iRV66. Those were troublesome to say the least. I've replaced mine 3x. Don't think you'll get anywhere with Patrick Ind. But, maybe Jake Carter at FR cust. serv. will cut you some slack.
Good Luck!

Ours did that and I finally figured out that there was a wake up alarm that was 'waking up' the entertainment system instead of waking us up because it was set for an odd time. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how I turned it off. I just kept pressing buttons until I found the alarm.

Thank you. We are heading out for the weekend. I will see if I can figure out the alarm. On the on other hand I have found it on three times this morning. I may end up cutting the power to it for the weekend

That was the 'snooze' alarm on ours. I turned the sound to 'mute' many times before I figured it out. In my rig, I couldn't cut the power to it without cutting the power to something else.

Have a safe trip.

Great that you solved it. Don't think I ever messed with the clock or alarms

I dug out the manual. This thing is an iRV33. The manual does not show any kind of alarm clock. So does anyone have any other ideas why it would suddenly turn itself on. Interestingly it has never happened while we are in the camper.

Mine's an iRV33, too, but I've never had any issues with it.

But I will say that the owners manual isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I also have that system, though I think mine might be the IRV66. Anyway, they are all just plain old pieces of crap. it's probably the cheapest thing they put in our trailer. I can't remember the issue, but I had nothing but good service from Patrick Industries. Bypassed FR and my dealer. One thing I did have to do was disconnect the junky FM antenna on our trailer and split the coax coming from the roof antenna and ran the cable to the antenna input on the receiver. At least now the FM part gets good reception. And the DVD player on ours never has worked right. A new REAL audio/visual system is rapidly moving it's way up on my wish list.

Had an irv33 unit in my mini lite that didn’t work properly from day one. Some days it worked, some it didn’t. Finally just quit working about 3 months out of warranty. Replaced with a Jensen unit from etrailer.com and couldn’t be happier. The Jensen seems to be a much better unit.
