I did, but only the 50, ... Amazon has the 50 also, no 30amp anywhere, not even Progressive Industries, ... that would for sure, be a smaller package than the pigtail, ... if one is available

I just ordered a 50 amp Extension Plug from RV Upgrades.com for $23.30.
"Pigtail" adapters won't transfer heat over their 18" length and damage your shore power cord. An extension plug as pictured, aka "puck" style, isn't going to help much at all. Besides, you can get the pigtail adapter linked to above for under $10 incl. free shipping.

Another reason shore power plugs heat up is due to plugging in live all the time (which most do at CGs). You should turn the power off each time you plug in, even at home. A converter has a momentary inrush current that causes pitting on the blades (and inside recepts.) which attracts dirt and eventually leads to a poor connection and thus heat. You can hear a zap and in the dark a small flash. No additional cost in simply shutting power off...

I do not find a 30 to30 Extension Plug in RV Upgrades. Requires a search I guess. Anyone ask PROGRESSIVE?

I use a 30amp progressive industries EMS here at home plugged into my fiver. And i carry a 50amp one when we travel. I have left both of these plugged in for months at a time in all kinds of weather here in michigan and texas where we winter. I have never covered them up and have never had a problem. Maybe i’m just lucky. But progressive industries makes these units to withstand weather. You can’t do any better than that.

Agreed. The new progressive EMS is also a surge protector. Using a 10ft rv extension will allow you to place the EMS under a 5 gal bucket on a block off the ground. The older progressive EMS are not water proof. I own 2. One has been replaced twice, the other once, because of moisture in the unit. Hence now I use the bucket. This way you don't have to bag the pedestal. CG owners don't like buckets or bags on their pedestals. Progressive warranty does not cover burnt plug from bad pedestal so I would rather burn up a $50 cord than have the ems plug burn and not have it replaced. That's another reason to make sure the breaker is off when you plug and unplug.

Just bought one. 30 to 30 18" long

The only extension 'plug' I've ever seen is the 50 amp version made by Progressive Industries. (The one you purchased through RV Upgrades)
