Key not working

Hi! We just got our 2109s delivered yesterday from out of state. Can you tell me if one key fits the door and storage compartments? We cannot get this key to work in the door.

Is this a brand new unit?
Some units have two keys for the door…..the regular lock and the dead bolt, each having their own key.
Most units have a CH751 key for storage locks.

None of what I’ve said is set in stone.

Where can I find out for sure about the keys? Our salesman told us there was only one set of keys. Now, the key is stuck in the door.

Those keys are for the door. You likely need a CH731 for the storage doors. They're easy to get at any RV store or online.

Must be the door key...or wrong key

That must be the door key--or the key to someone else's trailer.

Almost every baggage door uses the same key--this one, number CH751. It only has notches on one side.

The keys above do not fit the door whatsoever. Dealer said…THAT IS THE KEY FOR SURE. After trying and trying husband broke it off in there. Now, the lock is off the door. *♀️These keys do fit the storage but we had a tough time with them.

Key not working

We have a 2021 flagstaff and those keys fit doors and storage compartments. The compartments have the slam latches

X2 My 2022 uses the same key for everything, mine were hard to operate from the getgo and had to lube all the cylinders to get them to work.

See if any of the numbers on the yellow key tag match the last part of your trailer VIN. If not, you may have been shipped the wrong set of keys. Also I don't know if Rockwood can tell you the original key code for the door, but it might be worth a call to them to see if they can decode the key number from the trailer VIN (the code stamped on the key, or "G366" in your case). If that's the right key, then it may be a sticky lock that needs to be sprayed with silicone containing PTFE or some other lubricant. Normally the purple colored keys are the main door keys. Our storage compartment keys were black and *NOT* the usual generic "CH731" ones (double cut in our case, but we were 2nd owner so 1st owner may have changed storage locks?).

Since it's a new rig, your dealer may be able to arrange for a mobile mechanic out there to fix it. They are either going to have to get a replacement lock that's keyed to the one you have or replace all the locks (which sounds expensive.) Of course, you could have just that one replaced, but then one key wouldn't operate all locks.

Welcome to the forum!

If your husband was not able to get the broken key out of the lock, have him take it into a local Locksmith shop and they will be able to get the key out. You should pick up a can of teflon spray lube (Tri-Flow) is what I have been using for the past 37 years. Spray all the locks and hinges with is also.

Have a 2614bs. Same key unlocks all locks. Storage and doors. Locks on my unit are also very difficult to open. Pushing in on compartment door sometimes helps. Used wd40 dry Lube on locks. They seem to be better.

I ditched the stock keys and locks and went with the remote/combo/key locks and don't have to carry keys. Either use the remote or punch in the code which is what we normally to get any one of them open. Works for us

As others have said, they are all keyed the same. #18 here.

https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/trave...ite/2109S/6265

And as others have stated, push in on baggage doors when unlocking.

And as others have said I am glad I bought an electric RVLock. It took a few months to buy one thinking money was better spent somewhere else. One button push and it is locked. Five to unlock. Everyday I am in and out half a dozen times, forget something which is often no key to mess with. I did keep the original locks on the baggage door.

This right here.

Dry lube, PTFE/Teflon lube works a treat, and doesn't attract/hold more debris (esp and the keys "break in")

Those keys are easily available with the correct code. It may be that the dealer sent the wrong unit keys, but - if they work anywhere (and no one switched out a lock), they should would everywhere.

Many times, yes, one key opens all. But not always. Use some lubrication on compartments that don’t open, or try different key.
