Lift kit for ePro/gPro units

Just FYI, if anyone is interested in ordering a lift kit for one of these single axle units I'd recommend CroftTrailer.com. Got mine for $95.95 and free shipping about 4 weeks ago. (They can run as high as $195 at some sites.)

When I bought mine, a had a choice of the off road package on the Rockwood, or the same model in ePro version they had there without lift kit. I told the Flagstaff dealer at the RV show I was leaning towards the offroad package. He said it was as simple as flipping the axle upside down. What a liar. I'm glad I ordered it with the off road package. Hopefully installing the lift kit is not difficult for you. Let us know.

I often wonder just who started this "axle flip" thing?

It appears that my gPro G19FD may have been one of the few 2020 units that came without the lift kit pre-installed.

Install went pretty well but it did take MUCH longer than I expected. I may have taken more precautions in the jacking and supporting process than were necessary. Naturally I was trying to keep me safe but careful to not over stress the frame in the process as well. I did all the work on my driveway.

I just thought someone else might want to know about this good price I found on the kit and shipping.

Glad it went ok with you! Now I'm glad I ordered it from the factory that way! I've hauled mine up and down a dirt mountain road in Vermont, and I was glad for the extra clearance and more aggressive tread, which I think helped with braking and side-slip. We're talking white knuckle, 10-15 mph tops.

We have property in the mountains with a rather minimal road down to the river. The first time I tried it, I hung up on the stairs, and had to remove them. I have improved the road since then, but I get having extra clearance. I take my trailer places most wouldn't. The only mod I've made is upgraded tires that are about 1/2" taller than stock, and heavier load range, and higher speed rating. I was told by an axle repair guy that for off road use, you need to double the axle rating. He said Forest Service trailers often come in with broken spindles or bent axles all the time. I was there with a broken spindle on my utility trailer from drinving too fast on a rocky road. So when on rough roads, take it very slow.
