Living room or kitchen fantastic fan?

I am taking the RV to the dealership to have some warranty work done and want to add another fan. I already have a Fantastic Fan/Create a Breeze fan in the bathroom and bedroom. I have two vents in the living area- one in the kitchen and one in the rear living room area, and would like to add one more to draw in outside cool air. Which would be the best vent to use for that purpose?

Where do you sit the most?

I would set one to draw air in and the other to blow out.

I'd go with the kitchen. Two reasons. One: It would complement the vent hood to remove moisture and smoke. Two: Ceiling fans draw air in through windows. It is the choice of which window to open that determines where the breeze will be felt. You can open a window next to your living room chair and cut on the fan in the bedroom. You'd feel the breeze not the person in the bedroom, right?

I believe either location would draw the same amount of outside air into your camper.
Both locations are a 14" x 14" hole so the CFM's would likely be the same.

Having said that, it's probably best to consider which location has other advantages.
If the kitchen area roof line is higher than the living room then, since heat rises, that location would make sense. If you have a rear kitchen then maybe not.

Also consider the ambient noise. Is it going to make more/louder noise in the living room area than you want to listen to while watching tv or reading?

Just my 2 ¢...

Ours are kitchen and front sleeping area. Exhaust over kitchen picks up a lot of greasy dirt from cook area. Probably best to keep that air toward kitchen and not suck it over to living area. We thought we might draw air in with fan, but turns out we never do. As said above, exhaust through roof and control the air flow by what window we open.

Fan

Make sure wiring is there. We added kitchen fan but it works off kitchen light switch, because we didn't have power there.

Thank to everyone for your replies and ideas. I am going to place it in the kitchen for all of the reasons mentioned. I will make sure that it can be run without having to turn on the kitchen lights.

Fantastic fan makes a replacement fan for the stove fan that moves ALOT more air and at 1\4 the noise levels. We bought one at Goshen this summer and installed it myself in about 1 hr. much much better now my dw loves it and uses it alot more. Not cheap but as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

Check on the roof as well before you chose your location, we could not install our max air cover due to the sewer vent being so close to the vent opening.

Do you have any more info on this? I went to the Fan-Tastic Vent web site and couldn't find anything.

Tall Frog - I like the upgrade stove fan and light. Did it require a lot of modification to the original equipment to get it installed?

Thanks for sharing this mod.

I think I messed up on the return pm for the fabulous range hood fan upgrade. You need to remove the fan hood and then remove the fan and replace with the new fan. You will get a new damper or sliding door so you will need to remove the flapper in the outside vent. I didn't change the nice covered vent that came on our tt.

How long you guys been married? Ask the one who spends time in the kitchen to see how she feels about that much air movement in her work area! If she's like my wife, she is not to thrilled about fans blowing/sucking large columns of air on her as her internal "thermostat" is much different than mine (she likes being warm).
