Manual slide out
Hi I have a 2015 8280WS ultra light, I was wondering how you manually retract the slide, I have a handle but I can't find anything to connect it to, I am in the UK no dealerships here, I would be grateful for any advice.

Many times the place to attach the manual crank for a slide is on the opposite side of the R/V from slide you are trying to move. Also the procedure is different for different types of slides. Do you know what type you have?

Mine appears to be a gear that runs a toothed bar in and out, if that makes any sense.

You may have a Schwintek slide.

That's a thru-frame slide, and it operates like the video 5Picker posted.

But, unlike the video, there is nowhere to attach the handle to wind it in?

On our unit, you have to crawl under the RV to operate the slide manually. There's no hole from the factory through the skirting. I have a cordless drill and adapter made, but I hope I never have to use it.

If you have 2 slides opposite of each other you will have to do as Bama Rambler said.
If it is a single slide there will be a 1-1/4 inch (31mm) hole in the skirting (great for mice getting in) on the opposite side of the trailer. My slides have the same mechanism. See pages 16 & 17 of the attached manual.

Hi, thanks but there is no hole in the skirt and nowhere to attach the handle, that's the problem.

Referencing the picture you posted, On the opposite end of the pinion shaft and down between the frame rails is the motor and gearbox. You'll find the pin for the manual crank there. It may be hard to see, but it's there.

There should be a motor there, it is shaped like an egg, about the size of a large grapefruit. You will find a 3/8ths to 1/2 inch rod coming out of it. On that rod is an almost cotter key looking thing going through it that the handle goes in, then you start turning.

Again... the place to put the manual crank is likely on the opposite side from the slide out. It may/may not have a hole in the bottom skirting. There may just be a hole in the frame rail.
If you look at the photo Bama posted you will see the extension rod attaches to the back side of the motor and is pointing away from the moving part of the slide. Where you attach the crank is nowhere near the rack parts that are in your photos.
