Mini Lite 1809S Questions
Hi
I just bought a Mini Lite 1809S made in 2010 and have a few hundred questions. This is our first camper and I am a complete novice. First up - water! When I hooked up the "city" water in the campground - 700 miles from where I bought it - it leaked all over the place. Come to find out by searching here and looking at it I was missing the O ring from the filter housing and some of the connections in the bathroom were loose. Got a O ring at the hardware store and tightened the connections and ran the water for a few minutes until the anti-freeze smell went away. Also the hot water faucet wasn't sending anything out so I found the bypass turn-offs that were set to off and tured them on.
Question 1: Do I need to do anything else to flush the anti-freeze out of the system? Run the water longer to clean the pipes or anything else?
Question 2: I understand the hot water heater on the 1809S is gas and electric? I just want to use electric for now how do I turn it on? I see a switch that says "water heater" over the sink but when i turn it to "on" the "reset" light lights up red. What do I need to do?
Thank you

the electric hot water heater switch is on the outside in the hot water heater compartment. If you turn on the hot water heater on electric without water in the tank, you will quickly burn it up.
Also, many of us have removed and bypassed the water filter as some have loosened and flooded the camper
Congratulations on your new camper.

Thank you
Also the air conditioner unit seems to blip out for a few seconds then come back on - is this normal? Does it sound like the power I amgetting from the campground or internal to the mini lite?

Wow, sounds like you should have done Camp Driveway first, before going camping.
Did the dealer give you a walk through because the WH electric/propane functions should have been covered.
The inside red switch is for the propane side. Electric is outside on WH.
As far as a/c, were you hooked up to 30 amp shore power or 110v power?

This sounds like power interruption esp. if you have a surge protector.
The 1809s is a good little TT... yours is 5 years old so you just don't know its maintenance history.
The main thing with a used TT is the top and bottom ( i.e. roof & hub grease/tires). Everything in the middle you can figure out over time and handle... Enjoy!

What about clearing the anti freeze from the lines? Just run the faucets for a bit?
The electric seemed to be too small a extension cord (16 gauge I replaced it with 12)

Hook up to city water and open all faucets run till pick is gone. Confused on the statement to extension cord. What are you using it for. Hope you are using your shore power cord to hook up to power. Make sure hot water tank has water in it be fore using. Later RJD

my shore power cord was too short I needed to extend it plus it is going into a 3 prong regular outlet so I needed to adjust
Seems like the heavier gauge extension fixed the issuewith the power

When you say extension cord and three prong plug, so you mean you plugged into 110 or 30 amp. If 110, do not run your air unless it is a side mount like you would have in your house window. It may ruin your compressor.

It all comes down to voltage and voltage drop. If you check your voltage when running the air and it is 104 or above you are OK. Lower than 104 then you need bigger power cables, somewhere. Don't run the air if 104 or lower.
