2511S/25FBLS Quick Reference Guide – Updated Apr 2020

THANKS! to all who have contributed to and viewed this thread.

As this thread continues to grow it will become more time consuming to find a particular topic(s) of interest without scanning all posts. This Guide should help make your task easier.

Note: Some categories have duplicate Post numbers. Categories are in alphabetical order and some are place holders for now.

Note: Posts in this Guide may also apply to the Flagstaff Micro Lite 25FBLS. The Rockwood Mini Lite 2511S and Flagstaff Micro Lite 25FBLS are essentially the same trailer under different brand names.

I will update it periodically. Any suggestions to improve it are welcomed.

2511S/25FBLS Pass-Thru Doors Magnetic Latch Installed

Sometime after the 2019.5 2511S/25FBLS models the factory started installing a magnetic door latch on both pass-thru doors. See video timer at 4:17-4:20.

Here is the magnetic latch. I bought two on Ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Baggage-Doo...wAAOSwZcZZqWV5

The Ebay latch comes with supplied screws but the heads are not color matched to the hardware. I bought color matched screws a Lowes, 9x3/4 for the door and 9x1 for the trailer wall.

This thicker magnetic door latch is necessary for the door to clear the trailer’s running light lens.

I eyeballed lining up the magnet and striker plate, used a sharp punch to mark holes for drill bit. Drilled all holes using a 3/32” drill bit. Gorilla glued all screws.

No more wind blowing my doors while getting stuff from storage or when I want to leave them open.

Thank you to Camp4two for this thread. We have a new untried and untested 2020 2511S sitting on the pad in our back yard. We brought it home on March 6th. We all know what happened right after that. The snow is just about gone here and come May 1st I will de-winterize it and make sure those systems are ready. We are fortunate in that our yard is big enough to 'camp' in. All Provincial and Private camps are shut down here in Saskatchewan. Timing is everything.

2plus1, You’re welcome and welcome to this forum. I think you are really going to enjoy your new 2511S. DW and I have owned our 2019.5 2511S for 18 months and love it. Most of our favorite campgrounds are also shut down. We anxiously wait for them to open up.

FR made some nice improvements to the 2020 2511S/25FBLS that we wish we had on our trailer when new. Optional roof mounted solar prep, standard 2 inch hitch receiver, larger FW tank drain valve, water pump moved from back to front of trailer (much easier access), magnetic latch on pass-thru doors, TPMS, fireplace, drop down kitchen counter extension and a pantry style cabinet to name a few.

I hope this thread becomes a useful tool. Please Post your questions/comments. Many forum members are here to help.

Happy camping (someday).

Campfire Talk

Thank you again Camp4two. This thread and the forum have already been very helpful and useful. Our 2502KS had one of the defective Ignitor boards on the water heater. The forum helped me to diagnose the problem, the dealer shipped me a new one and I changed it out myself. That's right I was 'lurking' for four years. Your thread and our new purchase convinced me it was time to throw my hat in the ring. My hope is that I can be helpful to some of the 'newbies'. The Signature space is very limited and does not allow for the full story with an old-timer like me. There are four more RVs and 25 years on a Sailboat that I could add which is just camping on the water. Before that Carole Ann and I had a fold-out camper, a couple tents and it all started back in the '50s with my Mom and Dad in a home built camper. We are Vagabonds, in fact that was the name of the boat, and have explored the USA from California to Georgia. We retired in 2006 and did the Snowbird thing with the motorhome but found that sitting in one place for five months wasn't for us. With a new unit we always do our 'shake down cruise' at home where I have the opportunity to fix what might need fixing. As soon as the weather settles down and the temp stays above 32F overnight we'll do that. Meanwhile I'll just look at it in the back yard and hope we all make it through these trying times. Stay safe everyone. Paul

7 Way Trailer Plug Holder Installed

The factory started installing a 7 way plug holder on their 2020 Mini/Micro Lite trailers. Another good idea so I put one on my 2511S to keep the connection dry.

Plug holder:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Screws: #12 x 1” hex metal
Socket: 5/16”
Drill bit: 5/32”

I gorilla glued the screws and painted the screw heads black.

So that's what that thing is ! Just kidding, been using it since we brought it home. I used to wrap the cord around the jack post and let it hang down under the propane bottles to keep it out of the rain. I have to admit that there was a time or two that I got to the first stop sign and noticing the extra brake pressure needed realized it was still there. I am hoping that this will remove that possibility.

Hot Water Tank Two Valves Direction

If your 2511S/25FBLS has two (2) HW tank valves, here are the correct valve positions for (1) normal operation and (2) bypass .

1. When the two valve handles point to the HW tank the valves are in normal operation (water enters HW tank).

2. When the two valves face parallel to the hoses the valves are in bypass. (no water enters the HW tank).
• Bypass is used during winterizing if antifreeze is used (no antifreeze enters the HW tank).
• Bypass is used during sanitizing (no chlorine bleach solution enters the HW tank). This is an option, the HW tank can be sanitized.
I sometimes lose track which are which so this post serves as a reference.

That is a great idea for the switch. I too agree the switch is much better by the door. I tried to find the Diamond switch you listed but had no luck finding it. Any chance you might be able to look it up or where you bought it?

Here’s one. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories.../37212225.html
I think I bought mine at Camping World.

Replaced Entry Door Stopper with a Bumper Door Holder

On windy days our 2511S entry door moves a lot even with the stiff friction hinge. I replaced the door stopper with this low profile bumper door holder:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wall mount:
I used the larger supplied screw on the wall side in the same hole as the old door stopper. The screw goes in very tight into the rubber bumper. I gorilla glued the screw and back of the bumper and painted the screw head black.

Entry door mount:
I eyeballed lining up the male end and marked the hole with a sharp punch.
I used a 1/8” drill bit as a tap and used the supplied screw.
I gorilla glued the screw and back of the male end and painted the screw head black.

Wait at least 24 hours for the glue to dry before inserting the male end into the bumper.

Great info. Do you happen to know what the name or model of the folding table is??

The folding table from Walmart is at Post #118 in this thread (click on link):

https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...169224-15.html

It is what we use with our HAB sofa in our 2511S and works great.

Camp4two, I now have the new door bumper, stopper. Great idea BTW, so much better than the old type that still allowed the door to rattle. Question: What type of Gorilla glue did you use? It appears to be black in your pic. Did you paint that also?

The gorilla glue bleeds into the rubber stopper a little causing the black appearance around the rim. Use a little bit glue on the back of the stopper. I did not paint the stopper, just the screw head.

Replaced Outdoor Shower with a Hose Sprayer

We don’t take outdoor showers so I decided to make better use of the outdoor shower compartment on our 2511S.

Thanks to 01trundra and 5picker in this thread Posts #3 (photos), #4 and #6.
https://www.forestriverforums.com/fo...es-205843.html

The shower hose replacement on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Purelux-Stain...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

The brass garden hose adapter fitting from Home Depot:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...1799/207176334

Already had the adjustable brass hose nozzle.

I replaced the outdoor shower door key lock with thumb lock. Didn't need a key lock there.

I bought the cargo carrier at Harbor Freight and was cheap and can load up to 500lbs.

https://www.harborfreight.com/500-lb...ier-66983.html

The spare tire was in the way so I need to also buy the hitch extender which made things work perfectly.

https://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-...der-69882.html

I plan to eventually store my 3500 generator on it with a non-descript cover and chain lock. It is right near the electrical plug of the 2511S in the back as well. It also is far from the bedroom so you won't hear it much either.

Unless it's fixed permanently, you may be better off moving the spare to one side. Adding the extender will potentially add a LOT of leverage, effectively multiplying the weight of the generator to greater than the capacity of the accessory hitch.
