Mini Lite Low Point Drain

I am draining my 2017 Mini Lite for the first time. I do have a blue and a red drain line. Two questions; I was very surprised at the large amount of water from my blue line...two and a half (smaller) buckets. Is there that much water in the lines of this small unit? What all am I draining? Second question; I only got a few drops from my red line. I did have a hot water faucet open. Should I have seen more water?...maybe the entire hot water tank? A little advice/opinion would be appreciated.

You most likely drained the HW tank when you drained the cold low point drain. It is recommended you drain the WH by removing the anode rod ( on Suburban) or drain plug ( atwood) prior to opening the low point drain. Draining the low point cold drain with water in the WH drains the WH through the cold line taking with it some of the white crud that has settled to the bottom of the tank. When the system is refilled in the spring some of the crud remaining in the lines will be pushed to the faucets, valves or spigot screens and clog them. What you saw is normal if the WH was not drained first.

By all means open all the hot water faucets to let air in and also push the foot valve on the toilet and hold it for a couple minutes to let that valve drain.

Thank you, sir. That explains the large amount of water coming from my blue line. Being a new trailer, I would hope that I hadn't yet accumulated too much white crud in the WH. If I have some faucet clogging in the Spring, I'll know what caused it. And I'll certainly know the correct way to do it next time! Thanks again for your help...much appreciated.
