Minilite question - propane tank holder thread

Do we have the standard 1/2” thread? I can’t get back out to the camper for awhile - and I want to buy a propane theft deterrent.

Tank Lock Bracket

Thanks !

That’s a pretty neat device, didn’t know they made them.

On my mini lite, I drilled a hole through the end of the handle that secures the two tanks. Below that hole I drilled a hole in the bracket that holds the two tanks together. A padlock through the two holes has kept the tanks nice and secure.

I don’t have the trailer handy but I think you might be correct on the 1/2”. Best of luck.

Great idea and way less than $50 and you have to buy a lock either way. [emoji106]

If they want it....they will take it. Lost 6 a/c units on our roof at work in one hour. Copper thieves stripped them to the bone with a saws all. Total time their truck was in view of security cameras was one hour.

You are right about that. If they want it, one way or the other they will take it.
My father-in-law was touring a hospital in NYC some years back. He asked one of the guys showing him around why the roof had razor wire around it. The guy said: Oh, that? It’s to protect the copper in our hvac equipment. Pretty sad.

Have at it[emoji16]. I should mention that you will most likely need a padlock with a long shank.

We just use a cheap cable lock, all it's going to do is slow a real thief down by about 2 minutes max or make a lazy one look elsewhere....

FWIW the item I purchased worked out fantastic. I paired it w/ a ABUS lock:
ABUS lock

One less thing to worry about.
