This is a new one on me. We're getting acquainted with our new Rockwood Mini-Lite 2502S now that we have it home, and noticed today that there seems to be a missing shelf in the fridge. It's the shelf that should be below the one with a "cutout" section in it. According to the owners manual for the fridge (Dometic 6-cu ft w/ separate freezer door), that other shelf should be in there. Emailed the dealer about it and was told that "all the Rockwoods" on their lot - 8 more of them - have the same situation. O.K. Why would one fridge shelf be left out by Forest River? Or why would someone be stealing one fridge shelf (when presumably they could steal all of them, for whatever reason they might feel a need to?) My husband said he found shelves like the one we need on eBay for $45 each, which is a ripoff (come on, really? They're worth like $10.) Any guesses?
Don't know why but hope when I get mine home it won't be missing a shelf. Good luck on finding a shelf. I would contact Dometic the dealer or Forest River for help. Should be covered by warranty.
Easy way is to call Dometic with unit serial. Ask what accessories should be there, no more guessing. Ask them how best to claim warranty shortage. They are reasonable people. BTW the cut out shelf allows a gallon bottle to stand through it.
I emailed dometic 2 yrs ago about this to voice my displeasure. They are in a market where they don't have to answer directly to the consumer and as a result, they pretty much do what they want to.
