Just noticed peeling Darco and gouges on bottom of kitchen slide in the center of slide. I believe it is just from the pressure of sliding over the plastic thing on the floor. If I raise the slide just slightly would this stop? Any way of repairing the damage?

Any other replies and solutions welcomed. FR suggested slide adjustment. I believe it is a design issue. Darco sliding over a plastic part with all that weight and friction equals damage. Something to look for on my next RV purchase.
The ends of the slide have plastic slides that run on top of the slide bars but the center doesn't have a protective surface just the flimsy Darco that gouges and rips off.
Something's gotta be sticking up.....Have read that people tear it all off and use a rubberized spray or bedliner
Or, the slide needs to be slightly raised
