Moving up towing question
So I am considering moving up from a Rockwood Roo, to a Rockwood 2703ws, with a GVW of about 6600. Just wondering what difference I would expect to feel while towing, if anything?

doesnt seem like a huge jump in weight or length. As long as you are in the limits of your tow vehicle have fun and enjoy.

I went from a Roo 19 (~4100 lbs loaded) to a Mini Lite 2503S (probably~5200 lbs loaded on a GVWR of 6538 lbs). Increase in length seemed to be the major difference in towing experience. At that time I was towing with the 2009 Silverado 1500 in my signature.
My 1500 was only rated for 7500 lbs towing, so I turned a mechanical issue with it into an excuse to buy the 2500 with 13,000 lbs towing. I like margin!

depends on which Roo you have and what you're towing with.
I just moved from a Roo 23SS, to a PT TracerAIR TT, that has a 500lbs heavier UVW.
it's the heavier tongue weight that's a bigger issue.

It's about 33' long with a dry weight of about 6600#.

So you are towing or going to be towing with a 2500? You'll be fine. Just the HD platform will make things easier as it is just a heavier truck to start with.
I tow 7000lbs with an Equalizer 4 point and the truck does not even move with passing vehicles.

To put it into perspective without knowing what you have, the largest Roo as of now is about 8 feet shorter and 1400# lighter than the Ultralite. I have the same floorpan (with all the slides reversed) in an Ultralite FW. It's 30' long and 7500#. That 2703 is 3' longer, and sits behind the bumper several feet compared to my FW.
Edit, I think I figured out what you have. The 2703 is about 3' longer and 1500# heavier, so not horrible.

We towed our 2702WS with a Suburban for a year. It was fine on the flat and maybe we could take a few hills. We did feel like with wind or trucks sometimes the tail was wagging the dog, and the trailer would push the suburban around a little, not bad (had LT tires, new shocks, WD hitch). But then we upgraded to a 2500HD diesel. No more tail wagging the dog and a very pleasant towing experience. I general tell people who ask, "with the suburban my vacation started when we reached the campground, with the 2500HD my vacation starts when we leave the house." It's that dramatic.

100 percent right that is how I feel too when it comes to handling loads . What people don't get is anytime you use a half ton close to capacity first off the transmission WILL NOT LAST unless your on flat ground all the time. Not to mention the fact if the weight of the trailer is close to the weight of the truck it will push the truck around . I hear all these guys saying I use my F150 or Silverado 1500 or whatever with a WDH and its does well which I'm sure it does to a limit but I have to think maybe they dont really know how much more enjoyable towing with a truck designed to tow can be . The last thing I wanna do is drive with my rump puckered up like a snare drum for hours at a time . Especially with my kids in the truck I would feel like a real loser if my rig got away from me because I was at the limit and one of my kiddos got hurt or even someone else on the road .
