New 2021 Geo Pro g15tb -- Fridge not 12v.

So I just received a 2021 Geo Pro G15TB And discovered that the refrigerator is a 115v Frigidaire. I was expecting a 12v fridge. Has anyone else purchased a 2021 Geo Pro in the last 30 days and got a 115v fridge? Thanks for any input you can provide.

Congrats on new unit. I wouldn't worry about that so much. When you are off grid, a propane tank will keep it running a VERY long time, and the 12v control system only sips power. My bigger GeoPro is same, A/C power or propane. No problems.

Thanks NJKris, I hope to have some great times. I should have stated that the fridge I got was 115v ONLY no propane connection. So that's the problem, it limits my future off-grid camping plans.

oooohhh, that's not cool. You would expect a small unit like that to be taken off grid. I never heard of an RV that only has an A/C fridge in units like ours. That is typically for residential size fridges in very large trailers that typically never sleep outside parks with full hookups!

What did the dealer tell you what you were getting? Did he tell you the fridge was 115 Volts only? You may have an issue to work out with the dealer.

I would be ticked, too! What is the Make & Model# of your fridge, so we can help you figure this out?

It must have have an inverter? I don't think they shipped any 115v frigs without the possibility of running on battery.

Thanks for all the great replies.

So I live in Fla and ordered this TT from a dealer in Ohio (best deal I could find). I new that FR was changing equipment due Covid. When I asked for a list of equipment for the TT, I was provided the follow info from the dealer:

Options:
Package A: Dexter Torsion Axles with Aluminum Wheels | Roller Shades | All in One Teton HD TV/Wi-Fi Booster/AM/FM Antenna (LTE Prep) | Power Awning | Auto Ignite Gas/Electric Water Heater | Frameless Windows | 190w Roof Mount Solar Panel | 1000w Inverter Power | Bluetooth System Control Panel | Tire Pressure Monitoring System | Ladder (Where Available) | Outside Speakers | Spare Tire | Hidden Hinge Cabinet Doors | Power Tongue Jack | Microwave Oven | Gas Griddle | Stereo & DVD Player | Outside Speakers | 13,500 BTU Low Profile A/C | 20,000 BTU Furnace | Sport Tire and Wheel Package | 12 V Refrigerator | 12v TV with DVD Player | Key Alike Door & Compartment Locks
Carbon Monoxide Detector
Maxxair Ventilation Fan and Vent Cover
12V Deep Cycle Battery
RV Wholesalers Nationwide Service Network
FREE DEALER PREP

Line 7 from the bottom of the list clearly states 12 V Refrigerator.

I've contacted the dealer and they are supposedly working on the issue, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

The TT does have an inverter but my guess is it wont run the Fridge very long.

I missed the part that states it is a Frigidaire. But I also read the "window sticker" he posted that states the frig is a 12 volt. Does frigidaire even make a 12 volt frig? Another thing I read elsewhere is that FR was not installing 115 volt fridges anymore.

He was SUPPOSED to have a 12v. He got a 115 Frigidaire with no option for propane.

Write them and ask what's your claim's status. Laurie McCullough in RVW's service/warranty dept. is a top-notch person who does a great job. I found that staying in touch (via email) and being patient allowing her to navigate the labyrinth of the RV parts suppliers and manufacturers communications channels always resulted in a favorable outcome. She never failed to answer my emails and keep me up to date on what was happening.

Do whatever you can to get a propane option fridge installed if you plan to do any boondocking.

Could you take a picture of the fridge’s manufacturer’s plate the one that shows power consumption, model #, etc? And post it here.

That’s not gonna happen. Wall won’t be framed for the back vent and the ceiling doesn’t have a roof vent. And the cabinet has to be designed correctly for an absorption fridge to function properly. Upgraded batteries and solar panels are the only option.

Not to mention having to route a propane line to that location.

A residential fridge unfortunately is a battery hog.

Changing to 12 volt would not be real hard. Changing to 110/gas is a lot of effort. The 12 volt likely will use 30-40% less energy.

The marine battery will not last long in hot weather. Do the usual stuff to make it as efficient as possible. Keep full. Use bottles of ice. No unchilled additions.

Two lithium batteries, a new converter and 400 watts of solar panels would allow some boondocking. So would an inverter generator.

Otherwise, plug in every night.
